I have no idea why anyone cares about hosting a super bowl.

I get why so many are against it and it’s a royal pain in the ass especially those that work uptown but overall it’s good for the city. Provides great exposure, local economy does well, and hopefully they shutdown most of uptown and I can work from home and play video games that week.

Could also rent my house out for a couple mortgage payments...

Football wise a lot. Outside of Charlotte we aren’t seen as a huge market while we all know that’s wrong. I’m not really excited about the NBA all star game coming but I recognize it as good for the city. Congrats to Jordan. I’m just not an NBA guy.

What does football wise exposure do to help the city?

The way I see it...

I think Tepper is already out. I think he jumped the gun telling everyone he was out, but someone wanted him to hush it up, so he immediately called the media to inform everyone he was still in it. Kind of odd that he would call, don't ya think.

I think Kestenbaum intrigues the league because of their desire to spread the NFL outside of the states, but ultimately Jerry chooses the guy.

It will be Navarro, due to local ties, a big payout, and Jerry believing he's the best man to keep football in the Carolina's, which was his initial dream from the start.

Kestenbaum lives in Florida and is from NYC.

The Tepper point is interesting though. Why would he car enough to call now? What would it matter?

It’s not so much that he operates out of Toronto it’s that he has “major Canadian Financial backers” that worries people.

I actually didn't know that. Either I was thinking of someone else, or misunderstood.

Not a ton that is noticeable but I can tell you that other fans at other stadiums are just plain ignorant about Charlotte and the Carolinas. They think we are a po dunk town that shouldn’t have an NFL team. They think we all live in trailers and bang our sisters. The ignorant won’t learn but like having the DNC in Charlotte, exposure to the city at a national level is always eye opening and provides Charlotte with immeasurable media attention to its beauty and sophistication. The Super Bowl here would be great but unless they change the qualifications it’s never going to happen.

I honestly don't think Jerry cares where the team ends up, or who owns it. He wants his payout and he's washing his hands of it. Why would he hire an outside firm to handle the sale (also, why wouldn't he have already picked Navarro) if keeping the team here were such a priority to him?
