Though the Hurricanes did not make the playoffs they are certainly going to be busy the next few months.

Bill Peters has resigned as the head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes opting to use his exit clause; Peters is closing in on a deal to become the head coach of the Calgary Flames. Peters was noted as saying that he believes the new general manger of the Hurricanes should have the ability to put his own staff in place. Expect Rod Brind'Amour and Mike Vellucci to be a serious candidates to replace Peters.

With that said, you can add head coach to the list of jobs that owner Tom Dundon is going to be tasked with filling this off-season. Additionally, Dundon is also going to have to hire a new general manager to replace Ron Francis, whom he reassigned to the position of President of Hockey Operations this past year.

Dundon has already begun making changes to the front office as he has hired Paul Krepelka as the Vice President of Hockey Operations. Krepelka played professionally in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) before eventually co-founding the Orr Hockey Group (with Bobby Orr). The Orr Hockey Group currently represents the likes of Connor McDavid, Taylor Hall, and the Carolina Hurricanes own Jeff Skinner and Jordan Staal. Krepelka is best known for orchestrating Rick DiPietro's 15 yr/$67.5M dollar deal which will pay DiPietro $1.5M a year until 2029. Krepelka most recently served as the Director of Player Personnel for the Norfolk Admiral's of the American Hockey League (AHL); he is also an adjunct professor at Endicott College where he teaches sport administration courses. Krepelka will primarily be tasked with the handling player contract negotiations, a task that is currently handled by Assistant General Manager Ricky Olczyk (Ed's brother); it is believed that Ricky will be assigned to a new post.

    • Those TDs passes you saw Sunday is what I think you will see bryce at his best. Those touch passes he can lob to receivers over the defenders heads. Long as receivers can get significant separation and bryce does overthrow those passes which we seem him do a lot. He is never gonna be a guy that can throw a laser into a receivers chest with a defender draped on him downfield unless its short pass or within a couple feet from the endzone.
    • If teams play us honestly and take that deep stuff away we may be able to operate good enough underneath to counter that. It is about time we started trying to force them to respect it.    But I think people should enjoy the win for two weeks because what’s in front of us doesn’t scream playoffs to me. It would be shocking if we swept TB. They aren’t Atlanta.  And even if we sweep there can be no let down.    I saw the stat of our record coming off a loss. Pretty good. What would it be coming off a win lol? Without looking, it has to at least be pretty upside down  (I count it to be 2-4).
    • Win the division from Bucs........BY implodes in the playoff worse than Delhomme and we finally get rid of BY as our QB. Get ready for 2026 with momentum for once.
