Maybe not quite a done deal for Navarro, after all.

Final push for Tepper, perhaps? Jerry Richardson being a jerk?  Hard to say, but regardless it looks like we might have to wait a little longer for the final decision.

I would figure it's the NFL trying to get Jerry to sell to Tepper. This thing would have been a done deal if the NFL wasn't meddling.

Given what Gantt said recently, Richardson an a--hole and trying to screw up the process wouldn't exactly be a big stretch.

Everything I've heard about JR is exactly opposite of that. He does want the right to choose I would imagine.

He's got that right, though.

There's nothing stopping him from choosing Navarro. Only possible monkey wrench I could see there is if the league told him they wouldn't approve, and that seems highly unlikely.

They do have the power to force him out.

It'll be messy, ugly, and a PR nightmare if it gets to that, but they can do it.

Might also mean we're waiting past May for this story to be over.

Now let me put on my conspiracy hat. The NFL asked JR to wait to make the announcement till after the draft. They don't want him being a distraction during a very important time. I think it's done. The NFL has approved and they are just timing the release to benefit the league.
