Legal implications from SI story

I don't hold either parties free of guilt in this.  Either JR or any one of his " victims" - they could have done something if indeed the accusations they made are true and they were free of any and all complicity in what happened.  they didn't choose to do that which in my mind makes their stories highly suspect.  Completely suspect - no - JR was wrong in what is alleged - there is no place for that type of thing between higher ups and subordinates in any organisation.  However I find it hard to fathom in the circumstances that these women did not do something or somethings to encourage his affections.  Not right off telling him to take a friggin hike when he got all googly eyed looking at their asses during jeans day and or spinning around for him was encouragement.  Taking his monetary " gifts"  was encouragement .  god knows what else actually transpired .  There are many sides to every story but you will never hear JR's side because JR isn't that sort of guy - all you will ever hear will be the story of the " victims" and possibly stories later from people that were in the front office at the time who were not participants.  Even those will have the taint of prejudice in how they are told.

I've jokingly said this before, but it still holds true:  if you do something that Panthers management doesn't approve of, you're off the team, whether it be having sex with another cheerleader in a bathroom stall in Miami ( http://www.espn.com/nfl/news/story?id=2216124 ) all the way up to the Rae Carruth situation, etc.  Just add Jerry selling to the list as the ultimate way to be "off the team"

Ugh, all those excerpt details in this thread are just... ugh.

I forgot about the coke, the cheer leaders on the bathroom stall in Tampa

i do remember the cheer leaders never came on to the field again to the song ‘I really really like girls’

Really, you think these women encouraged this ?  Like Eve encouraged Adam, is that it.  Poor old guy with money...

wow. Just Wow

go back and read the SI story and ask yourself what in JR’s history would imply this manipulation  was possible

this is a man who fired both of sons after he had open heart surgery

Not wanting to believe Ugly things of people we want to like and may respect for other actions is understandable

however in this case JR , and whoever hide the truth about him, is fully responsible

he instigated it over and over and over again

If the evidence were not iron clad the NDAs would not have been necessary. If he were not guilty he would not have signed them

The NFL's biggest fear is likely that a major news media (rather than sports media) outlet grabs this story and runs with it.  If that happens, Jerry Richardson probably gets thrown under the bus.

But then, maybe he should be...
