What did you expect from our GM?

First pick was a no brainer. Anything after that was going to be a head scratcher with Hurney. Jackson has speed.....said they wanted speed. The third pick is reminiscent of a guy with the initials of C.G that played safety once (and not very well). Who knows what Hurney will pull out his ass with the trade back. He needed to hit a homerun with this draft to feel secure with new ownership coming in.

So far one definite starter. D.J maybe a player or maybe not in the pros....third pick just a jag. Hoping for a smarter play by Hurney in this draft so far.  Haven't seen it.

Today was one of the more important days in the history of the draft for this team. We desperately needed to come away with a starter and then some.

It doesn't really look like we made any attempt at doing that. That 3rd round was vintage 2000 Panthers.

Hurney is trying to remake our entire secondary outside of Bradberry.

Which is the right thing to do after last year. I don't know if this will work (and neither do you) but there was no reason not to blow it up and start over after last year.

Arguing the nuances of guys who have never played a down in the NFL is fun but of no practical value.

These guys are all talented. I have faith in Rivera as a defensive coach. I think the reason he came out uncharacteristically against Worley was that Worley had some talent but refused coaching.

Norman humbled himself and worked his ass off to accept coaching and become a Pro bowler.

Also, Gettleman drafted 3 CBs  a couple of years ago in moves that reeked of desperation after the ego-driven Norman fiasco, and now only 1 is on the team.

If that was Hurney, the Huddle would be losing their mind.

Gettleman did a phenomenal job with the salary cap and FA from 2013- 2015, but it is indisputable that the core of the team came from Hurney drafted guys.

I'm going to be optimistic for now. Maybe we are no better, but we simply can't be worse in the secondary than we were last year

I actually really like the possibilities with Gaulden at S. I could honestly see us using him a lot like the Cards used Mathieu. He can cover the slot, and he can tackle and blitz.

The most reason people are mad because they haven't heard the name.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
    • His daughter's initials are CAM.  Coincidence? I think not
