I like that he addressed the Alabama thing. I had a long post questioning that myself and others pointed out scheme and such but there is 2 sides to the ball and we ignore them on both sides. If I’m doing the picking I’m taking a good long scouting look at the teams that are consistently in the final 4 and competing for chips every year. The team that has landed the most 5 star recruits in modern history.

hell I would make 4 trips to Bama Ohio state and FSU before falling in love with terps. Not to say Moore wasn’t deserving of the pick he was... this is more about taking shots on guys after the 3rd round... my roster would be full of guys who were genetic freaks that never fully developed at say bama because they sat behind other 5 stars talents. Coach em up as they say and swing for the fences on 5 star busts like Scarborough and josh sweat.

How many NFL stars came out of Bama? Now how many guys do they have drafted in the first couple of rounds every year? HS recruit rankings don’t matter when it comes to the NFL. Bama is so dominant because they’re very good at the college level across the board. They have virtually no weaknesses vs. other collegiate competition. But, given their college success they’re relatively lacking in NFL star power.

id say with injury to WR position id keep 6. Samuel and Byrd might not be 100% but they are still good. Also good because besides Funchess wright, and smith they havent really had full NFL season. And alot of times younger players especially rookies hit a wall. They arent use to playing that long especially against high grade talent like NFL. I Hope we sign anderson and cut fozzy. Even if CMC is our every down back id want consistent proven backup. And anderson can do more then just that.

I hope we keep both over Byrd without a second thought.

5 should be Funchess, Moore, Smith, Samuel, Wright.

Yeah lets cut the one receiver that caught mostly everything thrown his way last season. Some are too quick to replace or drop a receiver down the depth chart for someone that haven't proven anything with THIS team. Samething happen last year with Sheppard. He come in have great practices, then can't catch nothing in the game, while players like Byrd comes in scores two touchdowns and a kick return without alot of targets, then get replaced for someone that haven't done squat for THIS team. We don't know what Smith or Wright will bring to the table for THIS team. I hope they don't pull a Sheppard.

I think that most scouts see this.  So much ranting and raving about Harrison and I heard he was pretty much limited as a box safety.   Take it for what it is worth.   There are good players that come out of Alabama but they have so much talent at just about every position over most colleges.   Certain positions could look better because of talent at another.

We always say our DBs would be much better if our pass rush was better.  Same applies.

I really struggle to understand this organization’s utter disregard of the safety position.

The most baffling aspect of this is that it has been pretty much the same attitude towards the position irrespective of the Head Coach and/or the GM at the time of the draft(s).
