Would you rather have Derwin James?

Yeah, but I also heard them(nflnetwork i think) say most teams are comprised of 4-7th round guys. I guess you can say they are the meat n potatoes of teams, but not the "stars".

which even further cements my point you don't trade up

James was the player I wanted the most, but now that the draft is over and the roster is shaping out, I'm very happy with how things turned out. Cam was thrilled that we got Moore and my greatest fear is that he might get fed up if we don't give him help and leave. This gives him time to build chemistry and grow together rather than draft one when Cam's deal is almost up. This is much better for the big picture if we keep the big guy happy and give him some actual talent to work with before it's too late.

I honestly think the Panthers were smart to load up on offense. This offense should have no problems dropping 35+ points on any team in the league. Our defense should be able to hold most teams to 25 points with who we have.

Our offense should make for exciting football.

I'm happy with Moore & Jackson, but really.....really wanted James.

There's no way for sure to say the rest of the draft would have panned out the way it did, but based on who was available for us in the third, I would be happy with the trade, because we could have had...

R1: Derwin James

R2: Pick traded for James

R3: WR Michael Gallup or Antonio Callaway. Gallup is a sleeper and a great all around WR, but we probably would have had to give up a 6th to move up for him.....I'm ok with this. Callaway is a Josh Gordon level player on and, more so, off the field. Neither may be Moore, but would have given us a nasty WR weapon for Cam

R4: Ian Thomas

So, for me it comes down to James + Gallup/Callaway better or worse than Moore + Jackson + Gaulden.

    • Rotating in Chuba was beyond stupid and really hurt our offense overall. We’ve been in a good rhythm the last 6 quarters or so but Canales figured disrupting that with Chuba would be worth it Rico fits this offense so much better than Chuba    As far as grades go I know that ain’t our RB1, starting Center and our supposedly deep WR room and exciting talented young TE in dead last. Weird. I wonder if that has any correlation on QB play  Even that first incomplete ball Bryce threw in the end zone that hit Legette’s hands. Legette had no business being there so early. Legette went into scramble drill when that ball was intended for Coker who led up because of the traffic there
    • Yeah Jets have pretty much been in every game they've played and have barely lost to really good teams. They are much better than their record says Imo
    • I kinda just wanna see what the offense can do with a QB who has proven he can move the football in the NFL. If Dalton wasn't a shadow of his former self I'd be fine with him but Father Time has definitely caught up with him. If we start piling up the losses as the schedule gets tougher and the passing offense continues to be anemic that might cast Canales his job and it's worth a very low risk move IMO to at least give him a fighting chance. The thought of yet another Tepper rebuild just isn't at all exciting to me having already seen a few of them. I'm about giving this current guy a fighting chance.
