Did we win yesterday or what??

i really don't think they are doing everything they can do to win. they are doing everything they want to and hoping that it will eventually work. i honestly don't believe that the playcalling and/or jake is going to put this team over the top........

.

Seriously you don't think that Fox and Davidson and their group are spending hours everyday pouring over film trying to see how defenses are playing them and trying to improve? You don't think that they are doing what they can or know how to do to fix things.

Don't you think they know if they don't win this year they are gone? if you thought that wouldn't you be doing everything you can?

You aren't the only one frustrated about their play. How many of us cussed up a storm when Jake threw the pick six. I know I did.

But after coaching albeit at a much lower level, I know that coaches in particular stress over the things that go worng and work very hard to fix them more so than the things that went right. And I promise you that Davidson is doing what he can to be less predictable.

I don't doubt the coaching staff is working hard, at the end of the day players have to execute. I don't know how you can assess Davidson's playcalling when Delhomme is turning the ball over so much.

Such is the life of a coach, when players are executing you're a genius and when they're not you're an idiot.

I'm happy with the victory! But... no way this team makes the playoffs with Jake at QB. One of the worst personnel decisions in our short history, was to extend him with a year left on his contract.

We have already beat that into the ground. The extention was for cap purposes and most of the money he was given was already due him already. A lot more is backloaded and if he plays like he has so far this year, he will never see.

We have made far worse decisions than that unfortunately.

the problem is i think they believe they are doing their best and i don't doubt that they are spending hours and hours trying to figure out what is wrong and trying to fix it. i just don't have a lot of faith in their ability to do it.

if they lose their jobs this year it is because they deserve to lose it. i think they know full well that they are on the hotseat. i just don't think they are willing to do what it takes to go the distance. that is what i hope i am proved wrong on.

if jake truly is the problem and is done...is fox willing to bench him for the reminder of the year? if davidson is the problem is he willing to find someone to replace him if things don't improve? i don't have faith in him anymore to make the tough calls and major adjustments. i think he's too afraid of messing up more and that is going to be holding him back.

I avoided gameday like I usually do to avoid the hysterics and constant complainers. Still If I look at the threads today I can't find anything that suggests we won. There is even one that is titled Our Biggest Obstacles to Winning Yesterday. Seriously????

I know the team isn't great and a win doesn't change everything but we are a game away from .500 with a good chance to win at home against Buffalo. After our preseason if someone said we would be 3-3 after our start I would be more than happy.

Then why is everyone so nasty and critical? It almost feels like everyone had so many negative things to say over the past 3 games, they can't acknowledge anything positive or even be happy we won.

This really is a most depressing forum despite a 2 game winning streak which could easily become 3 or even 4. Can't we lighten up at least until we lose again????

You can't live in the now and enjoy what you have if you are always worrying and predicting the worst down the road. It bad things are going to happen it will be soon enough. Until then we ought to be able to enjoy the win at least for a day or two.

I am usually with you on most things you say, and this goes to n00bs most of the time, but...

This is the NFL, where there are no easy wins. Just ask the Eagles (who started 2-4 last year, BTW). I don't care where the Bucs were ranked against the run or what their win/loss record was and I don't care what obstacles the Panthers had to overcome to get that win. I just care that they did overcome those obstacles and beat a division rival in their house.

Is this college football or the NFL? Oakland is one of the worst teams/franshises in the NFL. Philly is one of the best teams/franshises in the NFL. Who won yesturday?

Every team in the NFL is made of the best pro athelets in the world. To get a win, now two wins, is something to be proud of no matter who the opponent was or how the win came about. It wasn't too long ago that these Panthers were 1-15 so for me I'll take 2 wins against "the worst teams in the league" any year.

That Philly/Oakland game wasn't a trend. It could be, but I doubt it. I do agree that any given Sunday any team can win. However, we have shown a trend of having too many turnovers and a lack of cohesiveness on defense and special teams. I'm glad that we won, but I still think if we play like we have the past 6 games (including the last one last year)...the Saints will smoke us twice, Atlanta will beat us again, and we will not be making the playoffs. The only bright spot I've seen so far is that the running game woke up. If we can keep the running game going, the turnovers down, improve on special teams and become more consistent on defense then I'll change my mind...until then, you've got your opinion, I've got mine.

So who's going to the victory parade tommorrow? You know the one where we celebrate barely beating two of the worst teams in the league after getting manhandled 3 weeks in a row by the good ones? I know Ill be there! I just couldnt sleep last night because I was so excited about barely beating two cup cake teams. Who cares if we only have two more of those on the schedule and all the rest of the games on the schedule are against winning teams who will manhandle us some more? We should just enjoy these 2 victories while we can since we probably wont have too many more. Who cares that Jake throws more TD passes to the other team than he does his own receivers? Who cares that our STs is the joke of the league? We beat an 0-6 team baby! Woo hoo!

Uh I only enjoyed the victory cause it was a rival

Other than that, we nor the Panthers especially should be happy about barely beating the Bucs and Redskins. You think the Pats or Steelers would be happy about barely beating 2 of the worst teams in the NFL. I think some people on here and the coaching staff is overlooking the talent on this team. Some people I think either works for the coaching staff is on here, or fishing for a job. Cause yall match perfectly

I'll break it down like this. Most fans beleived we would be ELITE and dominate teams, so when we see the saints come out and win pretty we get jelous and envious even if we win (ugly). We expected greatness. I did enjoy the win though after my friggin Heart Attack.

There is a victory parade?? Are they selling beer and giving anything away? Will the top cats be there shaking boobies?

    • Rumors are the team is in fact done with Ikem. So it was going to be a LT, just depended on which one got to them at 19.
    • I have not read the entire thread, and I realize this is fluff to a degree, but it was recorded in real time.  Here are 10 things that stood out to me: 1. Morgan wrote down (before day 3) the first three day 3 picks.  (Lee, Hecht, and Wheatley).  I was never fond of the Morgan hiring as GM.  I thought he was a lazy selection and I questioned his ability to match wits with some of the best GMs in the NFL.  Not any more. Morgan OWNED this draft.  He knew which players were good fits and when they would be bargains, and he got bargains.  I am thoroughly excited about every player. 2. Canales said (about Hecht, a 5th rounder):  "He has a real chance to start."   Morgan said the same thing about Freeling. While I do not expect either to start day 1, it looks to me like we drafted 40% of our starting OL in 2026.  I think we will sign Ickey to a deal and play him at RG, allowing us to escape the Robert Hunt contract in 2027.  Of course that is conditional, and Ickey could replace Moton instead, but if he fully recovers, we are looking at a better RG/RT than he was a LT--which was average.  3. When Morgan said to second-round DT Hunter, "Ready to play beside Derrick Brown?"  Based on personalities, one calm and soft spoken (for the Most part, Brown is) and the other talkative and openly enthusiastic, it reminded me of Brentson Buckner and Kris Jenkins.   4.  Perhaps the steal of the draft was Tennessee WR Chris Brazzell II.  Clearly the Panthers felt that they passed on him when they took Hunter in round 2.  They mentioned his skill set (able to attack on "all three levels.")  This sent me back to watching film. He has speed, hands, and he produced without a great QB. I think he could be great in the NFL.  When  5. Tepper was a bit more involved than I would like, but he seems to be very confident in Morgan.  If I were the owner, I would be doing the same thing.  Canales was also somewhat of a background character--everyone understood his role and stayed in his lane.   6.  I am also very interested in the quantitative analytics aspect of the draft room.  (something like, "He has a 94% chance of being there at pick 55, and a 38% chance of being there at 87). I would like to know their formula, because it seemed to be spot on. 7.  BPA?  Not really.  They had a shopping list and seemed to be targeting the players they selected. I realize other players were edited out, but I was impressed how they knew, by round, who they wanted and if there were multiple options sitting there, they traded back. 8.  Evero (I think) called Lee a candidate that would serve as the "#3 CB."  Morgan describes his size as a plus (Long). Strong praise for a 4th rounder.  If so, we have Thornton coming off injury who played well as an UDFA rookie and they will battle it out to become Jackson's replacement after the 2026 season, assuming the Panthers do not extend him (he turns 30 in 7 months.O 9.  I think we could realistically see every one of these draft picks play this season, and I believe most could start by next year--Realistically, Freeling, Hunter, Hecht, and Brazzell could all be starting or key rotational pieces this year.  I see Lee and Wheatley getting special teams reps and both could be used this season more than expected.   10.  Kuwatch seemed to be predetermined with the final pick, probably because he can add something special to special teams.   He and Bam Martin Scott will fight it out for the 4th ILB position, so it will probably come down to special teams--and Kuwatch stands out there.  Imagine an ILB with a 46.5 vertical (not a typo) on the FG block team.  Kuwatch has an 8.85 RAS score vs. Martin-Scott's 7.5.
    • They did mention Bain as the pick if he fell but didnt seem confident that would be the case.
