Time Warner customers that are still legacy TWC read this

So I check out this app called Nextdoor (basically a community app for neighborhoods around you in a radius) and someone posted about some dirty practices that Spectrum is doing now.    This post got like 30 replies of people having the same issue.   Apparently if you're still a legacy TWC customer, they are limiting your broadband speeds by a ton.     So make sure you check your speed (don't use speedtest.net, as ISPs are now opening that up more so you think you're getting more than you are) but try fast.com which Netflix runs.      I checked this morning, and sure enough, it's happening.    Most people think this started right after net neutrality was killed in June.     Spectrum even sent out a bunch of techs to these folks' home before finally someone explained to them what the deal is.

I guess I'm going to have to switch since as Spectrum probably knows, I have no other options in my area.      Really shady, the practice, and also not noticing customers about said changes.     Best believe I'm going to ask for a credit for the last month of getting less than 75% of the speed I should have got.

Uverse, no issues.  I dumped Spectrum the second merger was finalized.

Wish I had a choice

Really?  I tho uverse was all around Charlotte?  Well, that sucks.  Check how far away their line is.  5 years ago my neighborhood did not have a uverse so I called att and they said there is a line 500 yard from my house...  they pulled it for me lol.  It was amazing.

I used to play a lot of FPS video games and this speed gave me a clear advantage.  I saw people before they saw me.  I was reported for cheating a ton because they said I prefired before I saw them.  After Steam checked my internet speed, they just moved on.

If you could of just seen my video game network set up... I was proud of what I had and this year I quit video games after playing them for over 20 years.  I have 3 different routers that show 3 different locations.  Redirects for hackers and ddos attacks.  VPN switch on direct line that switches my ISP IP and my location every hour.  Now, I don’t care for any of it lol.  Still got crazy fast internet.

Weird. I've had Spectrum for 3 years now. Randomly bumped me from 100 to 200 MB/s and said that my bill wouldn't change. Haven't seen a price hike, but I did get throttled the other night (as did a buddy of mine who lives across the state). Streaming anything was completely impossible which is no good, because I use PS Vue for live TV and Netflix/Amazon/Youtube for binge watching shows and watching movies. Gaming was fine because my ping stuck at 34 ms as it usually does on bad days, then eventually returned to 14 ms. Some still say that is bad (it certainly isn't a 1-4 ping like I am sure some people here may get), but 14 is something I am used to.

Uverse is available in my area, but I've heard it's terrible for gaming. Can anyone confirm/dispel?

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
