Panthers trade for Chiefs DT Tank Tyler

can't say I agree with your assessment of that play...

Caddy made a shifty move to make up for the BLine that Brayton had on him. Brayton smelled blood and went for it, I wouldn't expect anything less..

Unfortunately, Caddy made a good move to escape.... poo happens. The negative on that play was no one else was there to back our guy up.

brayton clearly missed his assignment on them plays..and getting juked by a guy with bad knees is sad.:(

do you even watch football, or just the panthers?

This guy is a solid player and didnt have the 350+ size that KC wants for a 3-4 defense, they got a pick and we got another great interior lineman.

This is a great move by the FO for a 5th round pick.

Solid starter with experience and he is YOUNG (24)

Good for us

with as little as you know about the Panthers, you aren't going to convince anyone you're actually hank stram, but just to really shut you up, since it's so easy and mildly satisfying, here's Dinner Dream, an avid KC fan from another forum

You might want to mention to them that the guy who's been getting starts over [Tyler] at NT is not only Ron fuging Edwards, but also a whopping nine pounds heavier than Tyler, and significantly smaller than 350+. Also, regarding the whole experienced starter thing, he was mediocre at best as a starter last year on one of the historically worst D-lines in NFL history.

There is no way that this...

is only 306lbs.

those aren't 2009 photos. i've done some reading on him, and he had to lose 50lbs before the season, or Todd haley wouldn't play him. those are his 348lb. pics. and i wish he was more on that end anyway, so he could collapse the pocket, but he'll do. he can build up for next season.

That tells you how dumb Haley is. You need your NT on a 3-4 to be that heavy, but Haley wanted him to lose 50lbs. haha

Yes, an NFL level head coach doesn't know what a 3-4 requires. You are correct. We totally fleeced the Chiefs on this one and got one of the best tackles in football. Totally.

Chiefs fan here.

You guys got a good young DT for only a 5th. He's our best DT that was just starting to blossom. It usually takes 2-3 years for a DT to really come on strong. When he was drafted he was graded out as a late 1st rounder but some off the field issues pushed him to the 3rd. Since he was drafted though, he's had zero off the field issues and has been a good locker room guy.

His rookie year, he really struggled...which was expected. His second year, he was our best DT and made some really good plays for us on otherwise very poor Dline. Then...we went to the 3-4 and he started the first 3 games and I thought he did a decent job considering he's not a zero technique NT. I'm starting to doubt the whole change to a 3-4 but it is what it is...

I think he could be a real steal for only a 5th for you guys.

    • I'm more impressed with the UDFA that the guys they have drafted in the first the last 2 years. A whole lot of prove it is still needed before any improvement should be talked about seriously.
    • Sure.    ignore that he said this roster wasn’t good in 2023 to 2024 but keep up the effort
    • While I don't believe its a must win, (we have been better on the road this post season) it is definitely A NEED TO WIN the longer this series goes the more pronounced the Canes advantage on rest and health will be! If we hold serve at home in games 1 and 2 guaranteeing a 6 game minimum series for them if we lose the road games..... by the game 4 and 5 I expect them to be beat they have played A LOT OF HOCKEY the last three years, they have MINIMAL rest off a more physical than one might have expected series vs the leafs.... you know Tampa took their pound of flesh in round 1 from them. Combine all that with the fact that even though this year's canes squad isn't as talented as last years this IS a better squad than the one they swept last time that had McKenzie Mckeathern on line 1 Turbo with a broken hand a banged uo and eventually concussed Slavin (and even though it was a sweep 6 OTS and 4 1 goal losses is hardly dominant)  This year Bob hasn't been superman (hes probably gonna still have a great save percentage agiast us just a side effect of our style) Thatchuk is maybe 50% (3 game winners agiast us) their defense no longer has Gudas and several other downgrades.  While the Canes have a healthy and performing Svechnikov along with other big guys to counteract florida like Carrier, Jankowski, Robinson.   I by know means think it will happen but I either see this as a low scoring dog fight or a series were the canes surprise and end up dominating.
