The situation at Secondary - especially CB

Most of us (including me) have been devoting most of our angst and attention to the situation on the Oline (tackle specifically). It's dire for sure.

But flying under the radar perhaps is the news that we have kept ONLY 4 CBs on the roster:

Bradberry

Jackson

Munnerlyn

Elder

And 4 safeties: 

Adams, Searcy, Gaulden and Jones.

 

Gone are

Cockrell (IR during Camp)

Seymour (sent to IR today)

Doss waived

Gunter waived

 

Losing BOTH Seymour and Doss is a bit of a shock.

Only 8 DBs, 3 of whom are essentially rookies (Jackson, Gaulden and Elder) is a BIG shock.

Are you concerned? Who could we add? 

How would you make room in the roster to add someone?

Doss is still PS eligible...I think.

Worried of course due to lack of depth. I am shocked that Doss is gone. I thought he could be good depth, guess not.

Sure. I imagine Gunter is too. (Gunter looked terrible though. Doss at least showed some flashes).

But only 4 CBs on the 53? Feels very thin.

Just saw that the Lions are letting go of former Seahawks cornerback DeShawn Shead. Speculation is that he might be headed back to Seattle though.

I don't really think he's that good.

Nope. Only the root canal and then Ron saying vaguely a few days later that he was dealing with something else too. But sounding as if he was a sure thing for 53.

It was Voth or Henson who tweeted about his shoulder today in a reply to a question about why.

We're fine. Keep in mind that my boy Colin Jones can play CB in addition to FS.

It was Both or Henson who tweeted about his shoulder today in a reply to a question about why.

 

Yeah, sounds like "Ouch, my finger."

Kind of surprised we didn't just flat out let him go, though. It's not like he looked capable in the preseason.

Now, if he does have a legitimate injury, they'd have to do a settlement.
