Christian McCaffrey on record-setting pace ... as a receiver

Gonna ignore the OP's premise which everyone else has correctly mocked, and say something for all the Torrey Smith haters as well. Why do you think Christian McCaffrey keeps catching the ball with not one defender in the frame? Torrey Smith is a known quantity on the outside, they have to respect him, and they would rather take their chances with coming up and making a tackle on Christian than letting Torrey get behind them.

Torrey's not getting behind anybody though.

If he doesn't start doing so soon, defenses will have no reason to respect him as a deep threat.

To be fair,... I believe we saw Torrey finally start to get dialed in with Cam the last half of the game, catching 3 for 3, and not easy-- the touchdown was caught threw a defender.  Torrey is a hot and cold player-- but it looked like he was starting to find his rhythm with Cam.

And i do agree that you have to respect him, he has been known to unexpectedly show up and smash a game here and there.

If he can stay healthy, I'd much rather see Curtis Samuel fill that role.

it's been 2 weeks. Also the OL is in need of credit here. =)

Yeah...our allpro offensive line...you really trying hard as you can to not give him any credit as a runner. It remains to be seen ignored he can keep it up and keep improving but I don't see how you can act like so far he doesn't look a lot better running the ball. Get over us drafting him where we did that obviously you didn't agree with. He's the only player besides Cam balling out on offense
