Evidently I hit submit in the middle of typing. What I was trying to say is that I know full well that any NFL coach knows a lot more about football than I ever will bit it's baffli g how many mind numbingly dumb decisions get made. Decisions that you really don't even have to know much about football to know that they're terrible decisions.

Tis true.

It's going to be nothing short of hilarious if Tyrod Taylor gets cleared and Hugh starts him next week. I honestly don't put it past him to do it. Everyone is trying to push him to start Mayfield and for good reason, but Hugh's ego is massive and I could see him rolling with Tyrod just to try to prove everyone wrong. You'd think only winning 2 games in 30+ tries and going 0-16 last year would be a humbling experience for anyone, but so far that doesn't seem to be the case for Hugh at all.

If it happens, Cleveland might straight up riot. Hugh may need to hire protection. I'm only partially joking.

It was ridiculous riding with Kizer last year who is a bust as predicted by the Norte Dame coach. How can he start a rookie last year who.was lousy and bench a much better guy in mayfield? Regardless of this years record Jackson should be canned. They have talent and need a smart coach

Leaf and Couch I agree were terrible.  Carr had a junior high offensive line the entire time he was there.  The guy lead the league in being sacked his entire time in Houston.  Houston did nothing to help him.  By the time he left Houston he was so shell shocked he was done.

You get 4 years with an option on first round picks.  If they are top picks. They need to play.  Nothing like experience.   Based on your philosophy sitting one year means you have already lost one year.  The next year you are most likely going to have a mediocre season, at best, so there is another season gone.  You have already wasted 40/50% of your contract and barely played.

If you start him year one.  He gets the Reps.  He might play good or he might play poorly but he is learning.

Reps do not mean poo, in my personal opinion. You can learning while practicing and sitting too. I believe in sitting a talent like that for a year, especially, if your team is trash.

The kind of coaching you get counts for something too.

As inexplicable as it sounds now, the Texans staff made the decision to not spend a lot of time coaching David Carr on how to read defenses. Instead, the coaches just wanted him to throw it to a spot where the play was designed to go.

Stuff like that and his crappy OL make me wonder if Carr actually could have been a decent pro quarterback had he gotten competent coaching.
