Actually, I've got no dog in the particular fight, just hating the tone of the discussion. Folks might be disagreeing, but it sure sucks to see fans of the same team fighting among themselves.

Ain’t no fight. One version is fact and one version is proven fiction many times over.

And I get called a Gman house boy for stating a fact. In a subject he’s not involved in. But I’m sure it’s all me.

I see you ignored my post that states that Shula gameplans.

I ignored it because it’s irrelevant. He’s involved as much as any position coach. All coaches are involved in the game plan. Only one person calls plays.

Has he called ONE play like he did here? No. Will he? No. Why do you think the coach made it clear he WOULD NOT be calling plays. You want to believe the story in your head. Not the facts. As usual.

Shula has substantial influence on the offense, but believe what you want.

I’ll believe the HC and his direct statements. If you can find anything besides your “deep thoughts” to back your view up, let’s see it. Otherwise, enjoy fantasy land as usual.

Shurmur said he'll do the play calling and listen to suggestions.

Also stated this:

"We are going to have a shared vision for what we want the offense to look like, and he'll do what offensive coordinators do (game-planning)," Shurmur said. "I intend to call the plays, and that's not an uncommon setup for offensive head coaches. He is going to work with the quarterbacks, as well."

This doesn't sound like someone that'll have minimal influence on the offense.

So do we blame Scott Turner if we struggle on offense? Please answer me that? Because that’s who Shula is on that staff. That’s the comparison. Next time we lose, I expect you to go after Scott Turner as the reason. He is involved in the game plan.

What do you think is happening? Shula hands him a list of plays and Shurmer reads them off? There is not a OC in the NFL with less to do with his teams offense. That’s a fact.

Having a shared vision of the offense with the head coach and doing what other offensive coordinators do is what a qb coach does?

I see that I am communicating with a delusional individual.

How many coaching staffs have you ever been a part of? Have you ever even been involved in an offensive game plan meeting. Because I have. As a player and a coach. And if you aren’t calling the plays....you’re just a bystander. My problem is I’m talking to someone who knows nothing about football. Especially how a coaching staff works. Seriously. You constantly avoid actual facts and the truth to just make suppositions that make no common sense. All for some ridiculous Hurney aganda.

One note here. 90% of what an OC does occurs on Sunday after the game through Saturday. The game plan and working with your offensive staff is the majority of what they do.  Most teams only have 40 or so plays they run on game day that the offense has practiced. What they do on Sunday is important  if they call plays but it isn't the majority or only important aspect of what they do. Just saying ....

Peewee football is nothing like the NFL. Get out of here.

edit: what facts have you provided? At least I backed my argument with quotes.

Not sure you have an accurate grasp of their system. Shurmur is busy with all of his head coaching duties so like Rivera is here, they have their specialties and can input wherever they want but have to rely on others to do a majority of the heavy lifting. Like he said in the article, he tried not having an OC before and it was a mistake. There are several teams like the Saints, Dallas and the Rams whose head coaches call the plays but it doesn't mean these guys do the majority of the work. Shurmur said he had the same role as Shula when he worked for Kelly in Philly. So he knows how to use Shula and still retain control.
