I don't think a GM search would necessarily take a long time. If Tepper's feelings about Omar Khan are even half decent, I could see the job being his without much of a delay.

But if it did drag out, that's where a consultant could play a role. Tepper could vet GM options while the consultant reviewed head coaching candidates.

Khan's background as a primarily a "cap" guy with little to no scouting background reminds me a bit too much of Marty. I'd rather see someone with a stronger scouting background in the GM role.

Khan isn't actually my favorite choice (for those specific reasons).

He is, however, who I see as the most likely choice.

I'm on the fire Ron train now, it's not all his fault, but it's happening on his watch and under his leadership.  I think he has hit his ceiling as a coach with us. No disrespect, it happens!

If you want a good coach next year, you dont fire Ron mid-season. Tepper's perception would be another one of those impatient owners meddling too much. There could be a house-cleaning after the season, might as well wait until then.
