IMO, there are a few very obvious cuts.

Torrey Smith saves $5M. Captain saves $2M. Matt Kalil saves $5M as a post June 1st cut.

Other players I expect to see evaluated are Shaq and KK. Shaq has been solid but unspectacular and he's scheduled to hit us for nearly $10M next season. He's not worth that. KK is probably safe next season due to his contract, but unless he bounces back next season will definitely be his last.  Cutting Poe would save $3M.

With TD on his way out, might as well give Shaq the one last year on his rookie deal to prove himself.

The reason I dont think cutting Matt Kalil should be done is because by the time they save money from cutting him, most big free agents will be gone. Might as well keep him for depth and dump him next offseason.

He's trash when healthy and rarely healthy. Just dead weight on the roster. Moton to LT and re-sign Williams for RT.

When did I say that they should give Matt Kalil another 7M?

I don’t see that you cut him anywhere on there. Just this???? If he’s not cut, it costs 7M guaranteed on the third day of the new league year.

Roster Before Free-Agency and Draft (5):

Starters

Matt Kalil (LT)

Greg Van Roten (LG)

Tyler Larsen (C)

Trai Turner (RG)

Taylor Moton (RT)

The money they could save from cutting him post-June 1st won't do much when most of the free agents are already on their new team.

You are not getting this? Matt Kalil is done as a Panther. He has his 25M. We still have to eat 14.7M of it. 4.9M of all t this offseason, 9.8M in 2020. That’s it. Anything else requires us to give him more money, with the exact same cap hits still applied. If it weren’t for his 7M injury guarantee, he would be playing now.

You “designate” them June 1, one per year, and can cut them immediately and spread the hit. You need to do some more research as you are sadly misinformed on much of this. Nice effort though.

I'm pretty sure Matt Kalil is done as a football player, not just as a Panther.

Paying him a single dollar over what we contractually have to is a complete waste. He's never going to see the field again.

Based on the two replies above there’s no reason for me to open either link

Even if you disagree with the conclusions about what we should do at each position group, it's useful info as far as contract and cap hit details for every player on the roster.
