My statement isn't that Bukner's financial numbers aren't more favorable than Gano's, but against your words that stated, "Butker, has proven to be an excellent kicker in KC".

I never said "Butker has proven to be an excellent kicker in KC" That was @Seoul_Panther.

Easy mistake.

Either way, Gano is overpaid and we should have probably kept Butker. At least if he were to miss some of the kicks he's attempted then we could say "At least we aren't paying him the highest kicking salary in the league"

Butker is way cheaper and the biggest problem @top dawg is that Gano had a great 2017, but still flubbed it in the playoffs and has been a bad kicker 2 of 3 years. I don’t care about one good year out of three when we are paying him like he’s a pro-Bowl kicker every year.

Also, over the recent past (2016-2018) since Gano started sucking:

Gano

FG%: 87

XP%: 91

Butker

FG%: 89

XP%: 96

We can’t ignore XPs were Gano has been terrible and like the Detroit game, this has cost us. Butker has been better so far even with Gano’s great 2017 minus the playoffs and way cheaper. We could have saved over $14m over Butker’s rookie deal.

Why is this so difficult to understand?

It’s the same with Torrey Smith. You acquire a guy with no dead money if cut. And a 5M salary. Why keep him at 5M, when you could replace or re-sign him for 2M or less? Simple lack of understanding of value.

You sign a RB, don’t use him, then spend more to cut and replace him with inferior players.
