Does Tepper really want to win

Was listening to CBS sports radio this morning and they were talking about how football teams that consistently struggle to win probably have owners that either don’t care about winning or have so many other interests that they don’t spend much time focusing on their team.

So this made me wonder about Tepper. Dude is a multi-billionaire and has a lot going on besides the Panthers.

Was keeping Ron and Marty around despite their performance a sign that Dave is ok with never consistently winning?

No it does not mean that at all. He is thinking logically and giving a two time coach of the year and opportunity to have one more year being that we started 6-2 and then fell off after Cams health declined.

I wanted Rivera gone as well but honestly I like Norv, and I feel like we really can have a special team of we re tool this offseason on D.

Tepper has made it very clear that he cares about winning. He spend billions on the team and is doing everything he can to bring analytics into our plan and building a practice facility that’s one of the best in the league as well as upgrading everything to help out our players training and prep. Give the guy a break he hasn’t owned the teaM a full year yet and has made many improvements that the fans have been calling for, but now because he didn’t do what the huddlers wasn’t that means he does not care about winning.

With all that that being said if he fires Mick Mixon this offseason he will go down as the best owner in the league.

Of course not.  Not bad enough.  Even a monkey could see that defensive end was and is our biggest need, and our all time single season sack leader was and is available at 30 years old with the tread of a 25 year old, is loved and adored by teammates and coaches, etc., and the man obviously said no to the delight of the other 31, while felons Tyreek Hill and Frank Clark forge ahead to January football.

You have to move on at some point. It’s not happening. The guy was/is a nut case.

Yeah, so nutty, he’s done SO much to embarrass himself recently and most especially during the Panthers historic collapse.

He’ll be on an ESPN main event this month and the Panthers will be on their collective couches.

This is an investment, he is a hedge fund manager he has other things to do then worry about a crap panthers team win, not like we have New York or philly fans . We are content with a losing mentality and make dang excuses for why we lose . Our players are the best players ever there is always an excuse for why we win or we blame the refs .

Beating people up for a living and being a good teammate are two different things. He hasn’t been busted with coke or charged with beating up a woman recently so that’s a plus I guess. The panthers will be “on their collective couches” as will the rest of the NFL.....

He is a nut case who punches grown men in the face for a living now. Good for him but he will never be in the NFL again because he is a cancer.

Ha the only player(s) that think he’s a cancer do not play for the Carolina Panthers.  #9 of the New Orleans Saints for starters.

So beating up a female, getting busted for coke, and not getting a sniff of an offer after he left Dallas as a young player in the league who has stats that many teams value....that does not raise any red flags to you?

I bet you have been tricked by the African Prince sending free money to you after you give him your bank information.

    • fuging Christ dude this isnt hard.  Like at all.  I get you simping for this poo team is your thing but sometimes you have to look at reality.   Even removing his bum knee from the equation, none of this made sense.  He is 31.  He has been paid handsomely for his service here.  He was currently under contract for this season.  Why in the holy fug did anything have to be done 2 weeks before the season started.   The people for this move, in this thread are saying A) He deserved it (this is the nfl it doesnt work like that  B) It frees up cap space (then why in the fug didnt we do this in Feb or C) You logic (We are getting a deal at 53 million guaranteed for the next 3 years.   You realize with this deal we cannot cut or trade his ass for 3 years.  You understand this right?   So in my opinion we should have let this ride into the offseason and go from there, what he is going to threaten to walk, big fuging deal he would be 32 on a chronically bad knee, what other moronic franchise is going to give him 40 million up front?  It wasnt going to happen.   And you are acting like its impossible to replace a 32 year old RT with a bum knee.  Just go and draft someone, move Icky to RT.  There are tons of options instead of extending this dude 2 weeks before the fuging season.  The truth is Morgan and the shitheads in the FO fell for this dudes crying act and got all sentimental and shelled out another ext.  We are a poverty ass franchise that doesnt act professionally
    • Amazing what the prospect of being traded to Carolina will do for contract negotiations.
    • 5 Im glad football is back but after the embarrassment that was the browns pre season game where our starting D made Sanders look like a serviceable NFL QB, I lost hope again for a successful Panthers campaign this year.  I do hope I’m wrong!
