Don’t count on ever seeing Old Cam again

I am sorry but I have to throw the BS flag at this post. No where in the post surgery did they say anything was wrong with his cartilage or his rotator cuff.  They cleaned up the shoulder and he has already started rehab.

Some idiot doctor that had nothing to do with his surgery makes a statement and everyone jumps on board.

NOT BUYING IT.

Was listening  to a radio show, have to admit I don’t know who it was. They were talking about Cams injury and said they had spoke to a doctor who said that part of Cams problem is his cartilage is starting to break down and once that starts it never stops.

Guy said it’s going to be impossible for Cam to return to his former playing level where he could sling it, said Norv’s short passing game will help Cam in the long run.

Take it FWIW

Since one doctor has spoken and said that Cam's "problem is his cartilage is starting to break down and once that starts it never stops," I'll just let everyone know from the minute you finish growing and reach adulthood your cartilage starts breaking down and never stops.

The rate at which this occurs depends on a number of things:  what kind of sports you played, were you active at all during your life, did you have any injuries to your joints growing up or after reaching adulthood etc. etc. etc.   This is a weak ass answer by a "doctor" who is purely speculating on Cam's injuries.  The only doctor I would remotely be interested in hearing from is the one that performed Cam's surgeries....I don't want to hear anything from Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, or Dr. Pepper.

What we know definitively is that Cam did have some torn cartilage that was "cleaned up."  This entails the doctor going in and excising the torn cartilage so it doesn't cause impingement within the shoulder, specifically the AC joint where this can lead to a great deal of acute pain.  Impingement caused by a cartilage tear also explains why we saw Cam throw some real "ducks" at times and at other times throw way high and out of reach of his target because you never know when impingement is going to happen until it does.  It really makes sense that he didn't have faith in himself to throw the long ball, I bet he could (even with the possibility of pain) but didn't want to chance it when he knew a 30 yard post could turn into a 20 yard pass that would be intercepted.

Again, it doesn't sound terribly bad from Cam's video.  I am sure all the particulars weren't shared, but there are procedures that are becoming more popular to treat cartilage breakdown by athletes and that was never mentioned (cartilage replacement).  Why don't we just wait and see how Cam looks when he gets back to what he and the team feels is 100%?
