This is what it look like in case you happen to stumble across it in the future:

Who knew? Perhaps the greatest pick in NFL history is a 6th round comp pick. If that doesn't underline the crap shoot nature of the draft, I don't know what does. How many General Managers fuged up that day?

Moore was an easy decision. Just like Cam at QB or Star at DT, our need at WR was so obvious and the love from Norv was as well.

Also, if we keep Kalil another year, that’s on Marty. There is no more difficulty getting rid of him. He’s sunk costs since we did the option bonus let year to save cap. Paying $7.25m more for garbage play (similar to $5m for a WR4 in our offense) is on Marty and if he does it because he’s scared then that’s on him.

Amazing how every time we discuss Hurney’s moves Gettleman comes up. I already said we whiffed on Hall with guys like Eddie Jackson available (although we have a stupid fear of drafting them, like Justin Reid this year). Gettleman made lots of bad moves, get over it. That’s not a defense of Marty’s moves. Just like Gettleman in 2017, it was a good draft but both easily could have been amazing if we didn’t go for projects in the 3rd and 4th. Hurney continues to do that and he’s got to stop. We’ve got another extra 3rd, don’t waste it on a guy who doesn’t fit or has to be exceptional to overcome a deficiency. There’s too many good potentional OL/DL guys in this draft.

Just so you know, unlike others (perhaps even you) I know how to praise and criticise Gettleman and Hurney. When Gettleman was the GM, I gave him plenty of praise. Plenty of it! There were people low-key assuming that I was a G-man nut-hugger. I gave him time and was extremely patient to wait and see how his plan worked out. As time went on and he began to make obviously questionable decisions, he got the criticism that he deserved. When Hurney extended Jake, at the time I thought that was just about as bad a decision as any in franchise history. You didn't hear me crying and whining when he was axed. It was time for change. Now that he's back, after hopefully learning something (and there is evidence to that fact, and @MasterAwesome has a post in the other thread alluding to that opinion), I'm going to give him a certain amount of time before and if I become highly critical of his second tenure. To me it's just fair, and simply a more thoughtful perspective.

As for Kalil and whoever else, or whether Moore was an easy pick, we just see things differently. No need to continue going around in circles.

The positive if Smith is at least there is a vet guy on the roster. We arent forced to do anything. At any point this offseason a better option becomes available we have instant $5 million available. There was literally reason not to opt for the second year

Comp pick we could have gotten or canceled a signing out. That’s how Patriots get so many comp picks. Make the last years of the contract an option so when you don’t exercise it, they are eligible. Smith now is not. Since his value seems to be well above 5M, we could have gotten a 5th.

    • Personally I think he's a nightmare to cover I think linebackers generally aren't fast enough to keep up with him in coverage and cornerbacks don't have the strength to tackle him one-on-one in physically bring them down which would normally lead to a broken tackle or a nasty stiff arm or just bully ball play sure you could find a receiver with comparable speed like Cooper but he's faster than Cooper sure you can find a wide receiver that is the same size but he's probably More powerful than them and a better blocker.  The size speed athleticism package that he is in is completely unique it's easier to say I'd rather have just a big blocker because we've never seen this type of profile before I'm a risk taker I think you would be God blessed if this was there at 19 I think if you can get a guy that's a tight end who immediately becomes the fastest guy on your offense and at the same time that third wide receiver that can stretch and burn defenses over the top that's the perfect what the Panthers need type weapon.
    • I think you're under selling Sadiq. They are two different players in terms of how they win. Loveland is 2 inches taller maybe 5-6 pounds heavier. Comparing his speed to sadiq.. well your comparing a 4.7 guy to a 4.3 guy I'm seeing a guy that can take a bubble screen from the tight end position and turn it into a house call. I'm not saying the guy is a certified home run pick but I don't think there's really a president's for a comparison for this kind of athlete. It's easy to say this doesn't look like Warren or Loveland because we haven't seen guys that fit this profile The closest you might be able to get is Vernon Davis.  He's not as sure far as those guys were but at 19 I think almost everybody is going to have some warts and he's a lottery ticket of could be top 10 in the draft player or could fail I am more of a risk taker I think he fits the athletic profile that could be a homerun, like I said he's almost 40 lb bigger than Cooper and like 4-5 in taller than Cooper so and he's faster. So whatever you think Cooper gives you I think he does that and more. If you want to go with one of the office alignment I can understand that as well but for value as a receiving threat I don't think there's a bigger value at number 19.
    • I’ve haven’t seen anything that says we have interest in Njoku?
