Just for fun...let's say Kyler Murray is available at 16

Just for fun let's say everyone is way wrong about Kyler Murray's draft stock and he's available at pick 16. Should the Panthers draft him? Could you pass on a player like that? We've seen previously highly regarded QB's slip that far in the draft before, could it happen again?

lol no.  If all the QB hungry teams passed on him, I don't think we're going to be getting a diamond in the rough.

Hey who knows man, 23 other teams passed on Aaron Rodgers. Every team passed on Russell Wilson (who resembles Kyler Murray's playing style most). If it weren't for Wilson I doubt we'd even be talking about Murray as a 1st round pick.

I wanna preface this with - I have only really watched one full game of Kyler Murray's and that was against Alabama, and I have to say I wasn't that impressed.

How? They were a really good defensive team and he threw for 300 yards and rushed for 100 yards and had three total touchdowns. No turnovers either.

Let us know when you're ready to join us back here in reality.

You don't hire a gimmicky sub-.500 all offense failed college head coach if you're not going to give him the QB he wants. Period.

This experiment is destined for spectacular failure, but you never even gave it a chance if you don't draft Kyler Murray.

Yep - just went and looked at his stats.  Maybe the result was skewing my opinion

Understandable, only reason I remember it is because Bama was crushing them 28-0 early second before Oklahoma started going off on the Bama defense. By that point it was too late though.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
