Fox Said......

it was more like...

Tim Ryan: how do you feel about Jake going in to this game? For me personally I think he has the best chance to win.

John Fox: Yes he does, and we will just see how it all plays out during the week. But he does give us the best chance to win and we are not too sure about the other guys.

more or less

To me, that's like saying "Well we're gonna go in this car; even though it has flat tires, over this other car because we've ridden in the car with flat tires and we know it works. That new car coming off that truck I'm not so sure of. I haven't ridden in that one yet, better be safe."

Sounds almost like he's trying to talk himself into it, doesn't it?

Could be Fox's usual obfuscation. At least that's what I'm hoping. I'm not on the "Fire Fox" bandwagon at this point, but if he sticks with Delhomme through another ugly loss I may be looking for a seat.

Im with you on that. I still think Fox is a good coach, but you are correct in thinking that if he plays shaky jake delhomo for the remainder of the season I will be on fire fox band wagon quickly.

The funny thing is that Jake may actually be our best option... damn that's a scary thought.

I don't buy this argument anymore. It's not about who gives us the best option to win, because we no longer have anything to play for in this season. We're not going to make the playoffs, we can forget about that. What are we fighting for...5 or 6 wins. Excuse me if I don't see any need to sacrafice anything for a run at possible mediocrity. The focus should now be on fixng the problems for the next season, and the long term. We don't need who gives us the best chance to win now, but to test possibilities for who gives us the best opportunity to win in the future. We know that's not Jake, so let's start bringing in every kid who has a spark and see if we can't find a diamond in the rough sitting out there somewhere.

They gave Jake too much money to sit him. I wish we could find out what Hunter has over the other two bums, but that won't happen.

I concure, I'm not on the Fire Fox wagon, but he needs to make a change, for the teams sake and our sake.

No way. "Stats are for losers" Jake has a better grasp of the checkdowns and probably looks better in practice than the other 2 because of the number of reps he has had over the years. The only way a #2 can beat out the incumbent is if he is a whole lot better. Neither of these guys are.

Well, it could be, that he's saying the party line so that the Cards prepare for Delhomme.

Of course, with our offense, how much prep is needed.

I just watched NFL Network, total access, and the film clearly showed Delhomme on all 3 interceptions missing the window of where the ball was catchable, he could not hit it with a shotgun.

I dont' know what Fox will do; but, one thing is certain, if he starts Delhomme and Delhomme sucks, there will be no Panthers fans to speak of at BofA for the rest of the year; except maybe the Dec 20th game to see Brett Farve and that is really sad.

Its a disservice to the other 51 players.

Regardless, I believe Fox is finished here. As for drafting a QB, I've said that on here for 4 years and, like others who said it, was royally called down for it...'we don't need a QB we need blah blah blah.

The bottom-line, in the NFL, if a team doesn't have a QB, who at a minimum, doesn't hurt the team, and can hit that passing window, at leat 50% of the time, a team has nothing.

Don't even mention Dilfer, he knew his place, and he didn't have 15+ turnovers in the first 6 games.

    • It was absolutely a catch, and I can’t believe how many folks were stating, before the NFL’s apology, that the overturn was the right call.  The ultimate question in this case is this: can a player complete a catch with only one hand? Of course, we all know the answer to that question, and it is an emphatic “Yes.” T-Mac maintained complete control with one hand (believe it was the right) while the other came off when the ball hit the ground. The ball was in the same position in the one hand (watch T-Mac’s fingers in relation to the NFL shield on the ball) after touching the ground as it was when it first went to the ground. Going back to the question above, if one hand can establish control, then there was no need for the other to stay on the ball, so long as the ball doesn’t move in that one hand that stays on it   It blew my mind that they overturned this in the first place. This should not be a “We got it wrong on the replay because there wasn’t clear and convincing evidence.” This should have been, “That was absolutely a catch.”
    • Sign him up. I am willing to bet he wouldn't finish a game with -2 yards.
    • He is just fuging limited in every way.  On one hand, and nfl player, you would want to bulk them up so long as it doesn’t limit their mobility, elasticity, flexibility, ROM, or dynamicism - as is the concern with bulking up.  But the issue with that is, you would be worried about that when a guy has those traits to begin with.  Bryce is a very average athlete with a weak arm.  So if you’re not gonna be a great athlete with a strong arm, bulk up.  And if you can’t or won’t bulk up, find another fuging profession that doesn’t require athleticism and arm strength.  You’re built like a bitch AND aren’t a great athlete - you can’t be subpar in both categories…  well, unless you play for the Panthers apparently.
