@ellis jesus man, nobody is forming a lynch mob to get rid of Allen. Thought Sport Analysts like yourself would typically try to remain as unbiased as humanely possible.

Buddy. Take a deep breath. Let’s talk it out.

You know what we do. If you don’t, go take a look at our Twitter. We praise both these guys, and we’re not afraid to critique either one of them.

That particular headline just felt like it was designed to stimulate some emotions. It didn’t stimulate mine, because I don’t have emotions about this crap. Just from my experience working in the newsroom, we call it red meat. That’s why I threw it out there.

I’m sorry if I pissed you off. Seriously, like I said, go take a closer look at what we do and you’ll see there’s plenty of love for Newton. Almost an embarrassing amount.

Right? It was all good just a week ago when he was hyping him up.

Now it's all "Cam fans", and "those who wish Kyle Allen would go away".

Those who have to tell you repeatedly how objective and unbiased they are usually are the exact opposite of that. No one is without some form or bias at the end of the day. Guys really need to stop dancing around their agendas like their so different from anyone else who follows the team.

That’s certainly not what we meant. They (media) do this stuff with Newton, too. I was all over this on Twitter yesterday, when they flashed the graphic showing the win loss record between KA and QB1.

Pissed? You’ve gone post after post doing as much damage control for Kyle Allen since yesterday afternoon. You’ve now gone the lengths to creating an imaginary sect of the fanbase that “wants Kyle to go away”.

Spare me the rest of your dude love post.

That’s a strong mischaracterization of what I said. And let’s be honest, can we talk about the damage control that I’ve been doing about Kyle Allen? What are you talking about?

I can't speak for him but I don't think you are an unworthy contributor or anything of that sort compared to what's out there in the Panthers media world right now. Nor are you a Cam hater. But pretending in any capacity that the division lines that have been drawn over the QB controversy nonsense only or mostly stems from the side of "Cam fans" is being extremely disingenuous. I'm not explicitly saying that's what you're doing, but that's the vibe the post gave off. Especially after weeks of positive puff peices and talk of how you have to go with the hot hand so to speak. There isn't suddenly a new agenda at play. This tomfoolery has been there all along. One bad game can't define Kyle Allen's career the same two bad games from an injured Cam Newton can't define his. It's as simple and cut and dry as that.

That's a reach. After any given game, you can find players hugging opponents they've never met just out of respect and sportsmanship.

It's not impossible that they know each other, but I haven't seen any actual sign of it (even via search).

I think it's more likely that Pettis was just messing with Sherman.

I had a feeling Pettis/Allen being cool was similar to Deshaun Watson and Kyle working out every summer together. Kyle Allen's speed coach is Pettis's speed coach. Apparently they shared a beach house with Sam Darnold and Josh Allen before the 2018 draft.

To prepare for the combine, he's ditched the Seattle winter for the sunny beaches of San Juan Capistrano and employed the help of trainer Ryan Flaherty, who's been called the "savant of speed." Also joining Pettis in Southern California are two of the top quarterbacks in the 2018 draft, Sam Darnold and Josh Allen, one of which is a familiar face for the UW WR.

"You'd never guess that they're as good at football as they are, the way they carry themselves," Pettis said of Darnold and Allen, who along with Houston QB Kyle Allen are sharing a beach house that all of the Capistrano Combiners frequent. "It is a little bit weird because they have so much hype and it's like, they're both potentially going to be the first draft pick. And I'm just fighting to get my name out there a little more, so the dynamics of it are a lot different for us."

Gotcha. That shows they're acquainted, though it doesn't say they're friends.

This would seem like kind of a funny thing to do to one of your close friends.

It’s primarily your incessant need to relegate those who are critical of Kyle as “Cam fans” and posts like “If Cam leaves, so will part of the fanbase” it’s divisive and doesn’t contribute to your otherwise solid analysis and posts.

Leave that sensationalizing hot take bullshit to the real dregs of this forum

Well I can tell you right now, I don’t speak in codes. Let me just set the record straight for you. I didn’t mean to ruffle any feathers. The “Cam Fans” comment? That was a testament to his popularity. Hell, I’m a fan of his work. And when he goes, if that day comes, a lot of fans will lose interest. That’s natural. That wasn’t any sort of social statement. But again, I’m sensitive to people who take it that way.

That’s not what we were doing. “Cam fans” was not any sort of social commentary. It was a comment about fans, sports fans. Of all backgrounds. Like I told the other guy, I’m a huge fan of his work. Have been since covering his first camp in 2011. Was a fierce advocate drafting Cam, when others were calling for Gabbert and Dareus. I have written countless posts, articles, tweets, and done hours of podcasts about Newton. It’s always been positive. If it’s ever been critical, it’s been fair and football related.

We were an advocate for Kyle Allen back in the summer, but we haven’t been unrealistic with our analysis since then. We weren’t unrealistic about it then. We said he would be a good back up quarterback, and it turned out he was. That’s that.

I have seen people on Twitter, people who appear to be Panthers fans, with irrational anger directed at BOTH QB’s. I’m not the person to blame for that, to be fair. You can blame the national media for driving that narrative, and fans (All Fans) need to own that.
