Hi I am new here; however, I have an important question. With the cap room we have wouldn't it be relatively easy to re-sign some of our veterans? I would res- sign Gerald McCoy, Shaq Thompson, James Bradberry, GVR, Mario Addison, Jarius Wright, Cockrell and Hogan. I would let Irvin, Butler, Love, Tre Boston, Wes Horton and Butler go. I would then try to sign Yannick Ngakoue and draft safety and DT in round 1-2 and then all offense. Next I would ask KK and Greg to take a pay cut in which they should. Is this not possible with how much cap space we have?

McCoy - try to retain on a 2-3 year contract.

Shaq - let him walk. In a vacuum I'd live to keep him. I think he's a very good LB. But, our DL is utterly depleted and I don't think we can afford to tie up elite LB money in two players.

Bradberry - re-sign long-term. He's our top priority FA IMO.

Addison - try to retain on a 2-3 year contract

Boston - try to retain for backup money, if he wants more don't hesitate to let him walk

Daryl - let him walk

Cockrell - see Boston

Wright - let him walk

Butler - let him walk

GVR - see Boston

Hogan - let him walk

Love - let him walk

Horto - walk

Elliott - walk

Irvin - walk

I agree with everything you listed with exception of retaining Mario Addison (still productive but will he be too expensive to keep?), Boston and Van Roten (we’ve got to get an upgrade at LG and FS at some point, right) and letting Irvin walk (1-2 year team friendly deal is doable at this stage of his career). I’m on the fence about Shaq Thompson for the reasons you mentioned and I think we can get an upgrade in the draft or FA.

Unfortunately we may very well be stuck with Paradis for next year regardless.

His cap hit will be 8.8 million in 2020 and 10.3 million in 2021. Cutting him next year would be a dead cap cost of 7.2 million. In 2021 it would be 5.4 million. The true "out" on his contract without a significant cap hit won't be until 2022.

Not going to get much more than that.

A Old Injured QB with 1 year left on his deal.

No chance in he11 someone is giving a 1st round pick for that.  2nd rounder is about right

Experts are predicting we will get a 2nd and 2 3rds or an additional 4th.

he has value.

Personally I think it’s a tall order in one offseason to fix the defense and the offensive line.

personally I think the front 7-8 have been good, with MCCoy Poe Butler Burns Miller Irvin Shaq and Kuechly. Burns and Miller can take big leaps.

our secondary does some good things but they suck, absolutely suck at tackling. Runners both receivers and backs just gash them to death, drag them for 5-10 yards. It’s disgusting to watch.

except for maybe Donte, I’m all about loading up on a secondary.

offensive line— Dennis Daley looks to be a pretty good LT,  but our line as a whole allows way too much penetration.

this offseason I would focus on Offensive line and secondary. It would also be great to pick up another real receiver— not a project to go with Moore.

so offensive line, secondary and a real receiver.

Amen...Paradis is not cutting it. In fact, I would’nt mind an overhaul of the interior OL including Turner.

Yep he has been getting pushed around to much. Hopefully Greg,Daley improve going into next year because the whole middle of that line can be upgraded.

Even though at times they have made gaping holes for mcaffrey they still suck at pass blocking imo.

What FA or draft prospect will be an upgrade for Shaq? Reading some of the things you guys say about Shaq is ridiculously stupid

But I thought we fix the OL this past off season. That’s all I heard from Ron and Hurney. Protecting Cam was key.

To the defense, what will we be playing next year? Whether it’s Rivera or a new HC. Burns has disappeared the last couple games. I just don’t think he will ever gain enough weight to be a 4-3 DE. Same to Miller.

If Little can recover from his concussion issues, I think the OL is actually pretty close. A lot of our issues this year has been having to play musical chairs due to injuries.

The DL is the much bigger issue IMO. Poe will be going into the last year of his contract, Short is a potential cap casualty on an awful contract, McCoy is only on a one year deal as is Love, and Butler is a pending free agent who we should let walk. All except Butler are also on the wrong side of 30 too.
