Novel Idea

Granted, it's always a judgment call.

Some people's judgment is just better than others.

And sometimes you just get lucky that the injury didn’t get re-aggravated or worsen and sometimes you don’t.

Ive seen Mahomes, Wilson and Brady limp around the field. I’ve seen Leftwich literally get carried down the field because he couldn’t even walk. All looked much worse with their limps than Cam did this year.

Conversations are one thing, but when you get pretty much everyone watching coming to the conclusion that something is wrong, but a professional coach who's supposed to be able to see these things saying "well he didn't tell me", it just looks bad.

Yeah, I'm just not agreeing with your take on this. Coaches and athletes play through injuries often and as @Bartin points out so succinctly, we aren't seeing anything here that doesn't happen with all good teams, athletes and coaches.

It's just blaming a coach for being a coach.

Sometimes you can get away with it. Sometimes you can't. Wouldn't characterize that any differently.

But even with that said, acting like you had no idea about it when everybody in the world could see it makes you look like a doofus.

In this day and age, everyone looks for plausible deniability. It's a sad part of the times, I agree with you there.

The thing that has driven most of us nuts is Ron acting like he had no clue Cam was hiding the severity of his injury. If you have worked with anyone for a reasonable length of time, you learn their habits. By Cam's own admission, he wasn't going through his pregame ritual because he couldn't. This would be a huge red flag to anyone.

It's also been my biggest beef with Hurney 2.0. He is the head of this organization and didn't shut Cam down when Ron wouldn't. If nothing else, I would expect him to tell Ron to do it because Cam isn't right. And if he did, then letting Ron just flat out lie to everyone makes the whole situation even worse. I don't know what was said behind closed doors, but if I'm Hurney and Ron did nothing and put me in this position, he would be getting his walking papers from me. This is the 3rd time Cam's injuries have been mismanaged by Ron.

What Frank did was in the best interest of the team, short and long term. Ron doesn't have that kind of vision. There's a difference between playing hurt, and playing injured. The only thing it appears Ron cares about is can Cam play well enough to save his job another season.
