Graham Gano has surgery. Will he be a Panther next year?

Yeah I know...who cares about a kicker at this time of the year, but it is raining outside, so why not discuss our kicking situation while drinking your liquor/coffee combo. Will he be back next year? That contract does not make it easy to trade/release without eating a lot of dead money (for a kicker anyway). Do we trade Slye? Also remember that time we traded a 4th round pick for a punter? Cringe worthy.

Unlikely. Slye hasn't been better but it is hard to justify Gano's contract coming off that kind of surgery.

We have so many holes going into next season it’s unreal. We have so many free agents, on top of questionable starters who are under contract. Next year could be very very ugly.

Common belief is that decision will be made by a new staff that has no ties to him.

The new staff will have an insane amount of  decisions to make. I hope Tepper pulls out the check book because they are going to earn every penny with the amount of free agent/vets that they have to decide on

Oh I think it's going to be a bloodbath if we don't bring back Cam. That may seem like an odd statement to make but if we opt to roll with Allen, Grier or a drafted QB.....it will be full rebuild mode.

It may be the toughest offseason Panthers fans have seen in a long time.

Tepper sounds like he might be prepared to embrace that.

Big reason why I don't think it's enough to just move on from Ron Rivera.

If we're going to start a major rebuild, I definitely don't want to see Marty Hurney running it.

    • People really need to stop placing Dan Morgan on some kind of infallible pedestal. He is absolutely in lockstop with Tepper regarding Bryce and has been all along. As far as the team being okay with 185 passing yards per game. We better have a proven monster RB in our backfield then. Presently that guy is not on the roster. Chuba has one outlier season so far and the other guys have proven nothing. Not what you would call a great recipe. The only thing we can hope at this juncture is that the highest paid OL in the league for the second year in a row elevates their play from last season and opens up some massive holes even our RB's can get through. But it still doesn't resolve the issue of predictability. With no viable passing game it is much easier to shut down any run game. No defenses are scared of Bryce's arm. It is what it is.
    • i lived in Atlanta from 84'to 92' & back then it was indeed a very different time without the internet & access to information 24/7. shortly after i moved back home to western NC around 93' or 94' the Carolina Panthers were awarded an NfL franchise & began their inaugural season in 95' so ike you i have seen the Carolina Panthers, ,the NFL ,technology, fans all evolve over the many a moon & years now some for the better & others not so ...just saying
    • I wouldn't even bet on us winning the NFC South. All four teams had excellent Drafts.
