Tua or Herbert will be our QB in Round 1

For all his talent and tools Herbert worries me.  Definitely has bust potential and I just dont see the “it” factor with him.

They likely haven't watched more than his highlights and listened to his hype (and last year's hype at that, this year I'm seeing more and more analysts beginning to question him). 

I really, really wanted to like Herbert, especially with the reports the team may move on from Cam.  But after watching several of his games this year, it's clear he is not a good QB.  He has all the physical tools you could want, but he makes A LOT of bad decisions, which makes me believe he doesn't see the field well, and doesn't seem to read defenses well either.  He also tends to play pretty bad whenever teams get any kind of pressure on him or in big moments.  When he's in a rhythm he can make some wonderful passes, but the rest of the time he's either air mailing it, throwing it into the dirt, or throwing with bad ball placement (either causing the receiver to stop his momentum or putting the ball where the defense can knock it away).  

Bottom line is he needs a good line and receivers that excel at getting separation.  Otherwise, he'll eventually start making major mistakes.  The problem is that I don't see these kind of mistakes as something that will get much better with experience and better coaching.  At best, I just don't see him developing into anything more than a mid-level journeyman QB.

I hope Tua comes out as I think if he checks out with that hip he’ll go Top 10.  Sure I have questions with him but his accuracy is really amazing.

If the Russell Wilson comparisons, arguably the best QB in the league over the last 5 years, are even close to legit, you take a chance with Tua regardless of injuries.  I've been a huge RW3 admirer for years and to have that kind of decision making an accuracy with our weapons would be a dream come true.

I haven't checked our status, but are we positive at this point that we won't be picking in the top ten by season's end?

I honestly think Cam will be back next year, maybe with Rivers as his back-up. If the Panthers get into the top ten, I think they have to go LT.

I guess it is possible to trade up for him if we do, I don't really see him dropping to us though.

A lot is going to depend on what the next head coach wants.
