For those who want Josh McDaniels. I’m actually not anti-McDaniels, but this should make for a little bit of an awkward interview. Or, maybe nobody gives a crap. I probably wouldn’t want to go work for anybody who called an organization I was loyal to a cheater.   
 

And I’m not saying they didn’t cheat. I’m just saying, I don’t see any other general managers on the record with that.

I get the feeling if we hire McDaniels, Marty's not going to be around for long.

He's the only coach I know of who's likely to already have a front office hire in mind (either Nick Caserio or Dave Ziegler).

McDaniels worries me the most, we can’t even interview him until at the earliest next week. I have a sneaky feeling that the Panthers and the Giants will be the last two spots open, and it’s no secret where any coach would go if they had to choose between the two. In CAP space alone the Giants have over 60M in space, you know where we stand. I think McCarthy will go to the Browns.

Hope this goes well. He’s been the guy I wanted since last season. I feel like we can do good things under him with CMC/Moore/Curtco

I wonder who his staff choices will be

Rodrigue and Zach both feel like he's the favorite. Several national analysts think so too.

The bigger question might be whether he prefers us or Cleveland.

Breer said McDaniels and the Panthers have been eyeing each other for the last year and a half. Also mentioned something about McDaniels thinking this would be a good place for his family.

He's originally from the Canton area in Ohio though. You'd have to imagine going home would have some appeal.

Whether it has enough appeal to be part of a dysfunctional organization with lousy ownership is a big question.

Like I said, I don’t have any doubt that Carolina has interest in McD. But I would be very quick to examine every element of this organization. He’s waited a long time, and left one team at the last minute. Both sides need to make sure they get this one right.

We're only confirmed to be interviewing one college guy, and I think he sees us as a fallback.
