Had we been 11-5 a lot more players on offense would be getting into the action

Not necessarily.  Turner's offense will feed a player like CMC, and Moore had a solid season despite that and being out basically 2 games with an injury.  CMC's production in the first half of the season was extremely good while we were 5-3.  He had multiple 200 yard games in that span and he didn't break 100 yards on the ground after the GB game.  In fact, it looked like teams realized that shutting him down in the running game was a big key to making us one dimensional, forcing us to rely on poor QB and line play, etc.

We saw what happens to an NFL team when McCaffrey is the entire offense .. that team sucks

Yawn.

5-11 team .. had we been 11-5 he would have way less stats

can people stop devaluing what CMC did despite it being a bad season for the team? Come on, seriously!

I get that some of it was his fault but a much bigger share of the blame goes to the shitty defense, shitty offensive line, piss poor quarterback play, and sub par coaching. Dude did what he could to help the team and we mightve been 0-16 without him

Not like CMC was giving up 30+ points a game against bottom feeders.   When we were beating playoff teams, it was behind CMC, an efficient offense, and an average defense.  Once the legs fell off the defense and teams put us down big AND stuffed the run, we folded.

There is no single player that can carry a team regardless of play around them on offense, defense, and special teams.

No I won't stop de-valuing what he did on a 5-11 team ..

If McCaffrey was so good they wouldn't have been 5-11

Stats are for losers .. if we force fed Scarlett or Bonnafon what kind of stats do you think they'd have? I'll tell you .. similar stats.

If Cam Newton was so good, he wouldn't have had 5 seasons with a losing record.  See how dumb that sounds?

Football is a team game, and not even Superman could drag this team to a winning record most of the years he has been here.  Just as Cam has made history in losing efforts... so did CMC.  Does not diminish either player's accomplishments, just highlights how piss poor our coaching has been.

Are you seriously telling me that Scarlett and Bonnafon could have went 1000-1000 with a piss poor line and qb’s who should be backups. You are delusional.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
