So is it a good thing that we are meeting with him first if we want him?

If you get the sense that Cleveland was the favorite then you would hope to get in your sales pitch before he travels to Ohio on Friday. But at the same time, he may want to wait to see what Cleveland says so he can compare offers.

Could go either way.

You go first, you get the first crack at making your sales pitch and maybe he signs without talking to anyone else.

You go last and you get the chance to top whatever offer anyone else has already made.

It's just whatever he decides.

Meanwhile, the Browns are still adding candidates.

Wouldn't necessarily make anything of it with regard to McDaniels or Stefanski, but it sure seems like they're set to interview as many people as they possibly can.

They don't make any sense, idk why someone would want to go there. Im guessing with McDaniels its just because he is from there and would get full power, but wouldn't he have full power here? I mean Hurney may stick around, but he can bring in Caserio or Ziegler for that higher level role and he would still have the most say id assume.

Stefanski hasn't interviewed with the Browns yet. He's expected to this week.

Schwartz would be a good hire for them

Doesn’t Hurney’s contract expire at the end of next season? He might just get the Garrett treatment and not get renewed

If Tepper thinks McDaniels is his first pick then I think jumping to the front of the line is a smart move.  He can make an offer JM can't refuse. He might even ask JM to make a decision before meeting with Cleveland. I may have grown up in NC but I live in Texas where I was offered a much better job with much better pay.

Put it this way. Tepper wanted an MLS soccer team so bad he paid $325 million (most expensive in MLS history) to jump to the front of a long line of ownership teams courting MLS. Previous most expensive was only $200 million - 60+% less.  Man's got some money. I think I saw Tepper's net worth is around $12 billion. Meanwhile Brown's owner Haslam has a mere $1.8 billion. Hell, even Jerry Jones is only worth $8.6 Billion.

Possibly more Important than salary is the amount that would go towards the rest of the staff as well as facilities. We are building a brand new one. What kind of resources is the owner willing to be dedicated to in order to create ling term success. I do not see these interviews as a one way sales job in either direction. It's a first date.
