From: keep opponent to 17 pt. or less --- To: keep opponent under 40 pt.

Rivera always preached to his defense about how important it was to keep opponent to 17 pt. or less ... for if we kept a team under 17 pt. surely we could muster up just enough on offense to win ..

Rivera always wanted Cam and the offense to do just enough to win while the defense kept the opposing offense in check

NO MORE

Today's Carolina Panthers are a keep the opponent under 40 pt. and we'll win type of team now - defense is now completely de-valued in Carolina now with Rhule, Brady, and Snow

Somewhere in Atlanta Cam is saying .. FINALLY ..

If Cam is our QB next season then we'll have the best offense in the NFL ..

Remember how those Saints teams in the past .. everybody said, with that offense, the defense only needs to be middle of the pack to be a Super Bowl team .. that's us now .. our defense only will have to be middle of the pack for us to be legit contenders

Cam is coming back and running this college offense .. what a beautiful thing it will be to see .. a Cam lead team that is not just trying to score more than 17 pt. - Cam has to be thrilled, this team finally wants to win with offense.

So...how many d linemen is Cam going to block while he plays QB?

So...how many d linemen is Cam going to block while playing QB? Cause if his career tells us anything to this point, it's that neglecting the O line has consequences.

Brady and Rhule are going to have the offensive line up to snuff for the 2020 season

Keep opponents under 40? So your saying we have to put up a 50 burger every game. This isn’t college dude.

Exactly how can you be sure of that given that 4 of 5 ol  positions were horrible last year and this will be Rhule’s first NFL experience?

There is no magic wand. If we invest significant resources it might get better, but I doubt there will suddenly be some miracle transformation in one offseason. I think you’re likely being a bit overly optimistic if that’s your expectation.

Because sports are scripted. We went through the last two seasons in order to rid the team of a defensive philosophy and transform into an offensive team.

No .. if we keep opponents under 40 .. all we need is 40 .. really I should have put under 30 pt. but the point still stands

Again I say this isn’t college.

You are completely off target. 7 of the playoff teams allowed less than 20 points. No team allowed over 31 points and only 1 allowed over 30 points. What you are saying is you want to go 1-15 every year.

If you're giving up an average of 30 points a game - even in today's NFL - you're the 2019 Miami Dolphins - worst team in the league .. and we gave up 29.4 in 2019 - second worst ..

A little over-board is the statement made in title .. but the point is - our identity as a football team is shifting drastically ... we now view offense how we used to see defense ..

This team will have an offensive identity.

This guy lol, Cam's body is beat to hell just like Lukes. The Cam/Luke era is over only a short time until both are done.... and We got NOTHING to show for it.

We're going to be like the Saints and Pats with Brees/Brady only with Cam ... Cam will be getting the ball out very quickly and the second half of his career he won't be subject to anywhere close to the beating he had his first 9

    • Hmmm... not a good start. Maybe I'm reading too much into this but after the guy who has been carrying your offense expresses frustration with his sudden lack of use and your HC just blows it off and confirms they haven't even talked, your PR team decides to use the guy who should be his backup as their poster boy hyping this week's game? Yikes. Hard not to interpret that as another slap in the face.
    • For some reason this is becoming a disturbing trend in the NFL. Teams are shutting down one part of their offense without causation from the opposition. Shane Steichen did it an overtime loss against Kansas City last week with the best back in the NFL. Pete Carroll allowed Chip Kelly to completely abandon the run game against Dallas the week before he was fired in Oakland as the OC. Matt Lafleur abandoned the pass instead choosing to rely on a bottled up run game when we clearly were having issues with the passing game. Big brain play callers some of them HCs are what the league wanted along with high powered offense and these dudes are making some of the dumbest situational calls I've ever seen. At least most of them are young and can learn, Canales included. I remember Norv Turner trying to throw the ball around the yard in a certain SuperBOWL, going in at halftime down 13-6. Emmitt Smith said get me the d*mn ball and took over in the 2nd half. Remember Kyle Shanahan in the 2nd half vs. the Patriots? This shite happens to the best and the brightest. We are just actively seeing it play out in real time just like Atlanta and Dallas fans before us.  Also, not saying Canales is going to become either of those, just begging/hoping for our sanity he gets his shite together if he's going to be our HC.
