I hadn't seen that video before.

Now I'm just imagining a linebacker standing in the A gap, yelling at the offense "I'm not blitzing!" :)

It really is funny.  "I'm not the Mike..."  I wonder what Romo said to him after the game?  It is almost as if 53 was messing with him for the fun of it.

Thanks Jesse--this extends my elementary knowledge of it--I just never really thought about it that much.  It is interesting--however, I can say the simplification of the pre-snap read for college offenses should limit the effectiveness of that blocking scheme in the pros---I have to think about it more.

I'm always happy to talk ball. These, coupled with a myriad of other philosophies in CFB are why it's so hard to find really good OL nowadays. Or at least it takes a few years for the young guys to learn and acclimate to an NFL offense.

Which is why I have been saying it is way too early to give up on Little and / or Daley.

Is it ever to early to give up on a Marty Hurney draft pick that was drafted outside of the first? How many project players has he drafted and they actually pan out? Few and far between.

I understand what you are saying--but I am not giving up on Little because Everette Brown sucked.

I'm honestly not a big fan of either one, but what I question most right now is whether Little can stay on the field.

I’m a big fan of Daley. Not saying he’s a pro bowl potential tackle. Purely based on him being a 6th round pick. Even if he’s at best a backup, he’s already shown he’s a serviceable player his rookie year as a 6th round pick. Any further upside is gravy. Little on the other hand could have cost us a pro bowl center and a starting LG.

I remember you had a favorite that we bypassed for him but I forget his name. I think it was a guy at the Saints took

It was mostly sarcasm but moral of the story is dont get your hopes up especially if the concussions are a real issue with Little then he wont be seeing the field much. If Cam isnt here next year then by all means BPA, BPA, BPA. Who cares who our LT is. But if Cam is coming back the only position group that can ruin this offense is the Oline. TE could use another body but if Cam comes back I'd love to see a couple early round picks added to the Oline or a early pick/FA. You need as many good olineman as you can afford you dont see a starting 5 unit start and finish a 16 game season + playoffs together very often

McCoy who went pick 48. We traded 47 with 77 for 37. He was rated as a top 5 C his rookie year. Not just a rookie, but all Cs. They lost a pro bowl C so they drafted a potential pro bowl C. We lost one and an all pro LG and we moved up to draft a LT who dropped like a rock in the off season workouts.

We had McCoy and Bobby Evans in for private visits. If we don’t F around with Little and using pick 7, we could have had a 2020 OL of Thomas, Evans, McCoy, Turner and Moton. So with only 1 pick in this year’s draft we could have potentially fixed our OL and had a top OL. Every other draft pick could be D to try and fix that. Instead, we talk about needing to get a new C, LG and LT. SMH.

Me neither, but Little's season was crazy with the bad luck--when he looks good, he is all pro--when he looked bad, and that was often, he is horrid. --I do not think we are getting a new T this year--if so, the concussion thing is the reason--I think we are going to add a G and some depth.  However, if we draft a QB in round 1, we could draft OL.

I see Hurney drafting Simmons.  MAYBE Brown, but Simmons is going to be the pick--and we will not regret it--he might be the best all-around football player in this draft.

Mike LB, he will be, to get this damn derailed thread back on track...:)

I share the same cynicism--- I was elated when we got rid of him and pissed beyond recognition when we brought him back.  I feel like Hurney is the second best conman in America.
