Yes I think two weeks. Those that are asymptotic will have gotten sick. We can begin to stop the spread of this disease. If we can stop the spread we can begin to recover.

did you come up with this idea on your own?  are you an infectious disease specialist?

No I’m not, it is what China did to stop the disease. I trust them as far as I can throw them, but if we can stop the spread of this disease, we can treat those that are affected, and begin to recover.

you do realize philit99 that is just the incubation period right, and that people stay contagious past the 2 weeks, and that some people are asymptomatic, and would still have it and be contagious after 2 weeks.  that for the 2 week plan to have any chance of success we would need to test every person in the country

Never trust the Chinese.

Some of the preliminary China data seems to back that idea.

i don't think you understand that study

The more I see your posts, the more I am convinced you are just freaking out and that no amount of data will change that. I posted the incubation data and the early data about how long it is contagious. What else do you want?

i'm not freaking out at all.  i have my own mountain i live on.   you put up a study of 161 people about how long to quarantine sick people, and most of them show symptoms in 14 days, most.   and you kinda left out this part:

COMMENT

These findings confirm the current recommendations for quarantine: Most patients who become symptomatic do so within 11 or 12 days and the vast majority within 14 days. However, we already know that asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic persons can transmit infection, and this group was not included here. Better access to testing for asymptomatic infection will shed light on this issue.

14 days isn't going to do anything in the long run.  it will just start right back up.   you're just not able to interpret data and you should stop pretending that you know how.  as i said before we would need to test every single person in the country during this 2 week period you speak of, and there would need to be a 0 transmission rate during this period.  neither of those is possible in any sort of way

Yes I realize that. What I am trying to convey is that we would have passed the asymptotic period, so people would not unknowingly pass it along. Those that are sick can seek treatment and stay away from the public. If not every American will catch this virus, it is almost impossible to miss it. Also, the longer this thing goes the deeper this recession and depression will last. It could be decades before we recover. What we do as a public now, determines how bad this will be in America.

some people never have a symptomatic period. we don't have the ability to test every person in the country, much less a state, or a county, or a city.   while it would be nice if this worked, and i def agree about the economy, it won't work.   i am not panicked.  i am not worried. i am watching.

    • It is like when you go to da buffet at da Golden Corral and dey have all dis food and you get the same thing every time.   There is probably something you would like more, but you go to da same ol racks and get da same ol food every time.  Not sure why I am writing in trailer park dialect, but hey, watcha gonna dooo.
    • If we don't go OT, we will regret it.  What bothers me?  Are we going to get a starting-caliber OT at 19?  I think the draft is solid at OT, and the more I read up and watch video, the more I watch Lomu, the more I want him.   I see Freeling as a RT who needs some work in run blocking (since we need to run first, maybe not a good fit) and I see Proctor ending up as a Guard.  After Lomu (assuming Mouigia and fanu are gone), I think we wait until round 2.  In round 2, there are about 3-4 I like (Zuhn--good pass blocker and VERY underrated right now; Tiernan is a very good pass blocker as is Miller from Clemson, but both are not good in the run game.  Max Ixxxxx from Ariz St is impressive too---technically, there is not a of difference in these second tier guys--good in pass pro, need work in the run game.   If we wait until round 2 for an OT, we probably need to sign Nijman and start him early.   I almost think this is what we should do if Lomu is gone.  There is a big dropoff after him, imo, and I think we'd get better value if a stud ILB or edge is there.  Someone like TJ Parker Clemson makes sense. If Lomu is gone, trading back might be the play.
    • And what is x gunna help with except show him what not to do. Plus for the first year and a half he was just an obstacle
