Some of you are underrating Bridgewater.  He's not going to be Mahomes, but I think he can throw better deep than some of ya'll are giving him credit for.  The Saints, even with Brees, had trouble throwing deep last year.  They didn't have the WRs for it and Payton's scheme in general is dependent on slicing up teams underneath.

Bridgewater showed he can be productive in that scheme, a scheme similar to what he will be operating with this year.  Will he be great, probably not.  But he can be productive, he's proven that.  He can get the ball in his weapons hands and allow them to make plays.  That is what Payton and Brady's system is all about, and it is why we are surrounding him with players who can make plays with the ball in their hands.

I think you’re forgetting that we are supposed to be awful next year.  Teddy makes zero sense and is a joke at the salary we paid him.

wow, $12 million for a WR.  someone needs to teach the Panthers how to tank a year since this isn't a very good way to do it.  Or maybe just maybe everyone declaring this "tank" garbage is actually just wrong?

Lost me at “Teddy Time”

Teddy can’t hold Case Keenums jock strap,.. or Nick Foles... and you poo me? Compare their numbers,..

teddys last full season threw 14 touchdowns to 12 interceptions,...

he sucks,..He Sucks,..

Dead on....

it would have been much better for us to get Nick Foles. Much better contract, much better quarterback that’s clutch in playoff games.

i would actually be more excited about Case Keenum,.. the guy looked incredible in Minni,.. like Foles he got screwed going to a garbage team afterwards.

i'm seeing a lot of opinion all throughout this board, of Teddy based on 2000 miles away perspective from North Carolina with very little experience or knowledge of his career, other than the 2 second look at his Yds, tDs, and INT from nfl.com.  I've seen this same people clamoring for Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes too.  Unless you are a legit superstar u need to follow the opinions from actual active fans of the players you're wondering about, and not some distant perspective based on barely surface info.  once i get clearance to create a post i'll lay this out for folks and explain the deal with Teddy ...

And I understand that point completely.  I'm not saying I was a fan of signing Bridgewater.  Personally I was all-in on tanking, but what's done is done.  I do think people are underrating Bridgewater, and it isn't fair to put him on the same level as someone like Kyle Allen.

Bridgewater is a Jimmy G level QB.  Good enough to win with, probably not good enough to carry a bad team.  The defense is still a year off even if we commit the draft to it.  However I do think we can win with Bridgewater down the road.  The scheme and players around him are perfect given his skill-set.  This is going to an efficient and fast offense.  I'm excited for that, personally.

Ideally, I would have liked for us to go full tank-mode.  But I can understand why Tepper and Rhule would be hesitant to do that given the criticism fans are throwing their way already.  So maybe they want to show everyone that the decision to move on from Newton wasn't a bad one and that the flaws with the team were elsewhere.  Which I think is far more likely than people think.  I really think Bridgewater is going to have a solid year.

Bridgewater has certainly not proven he's a Jimmy G level QB.

Um... what?  He’s good at YAC. Curtis is better at everything a WR does except breaking tackles.

DJ still a very raw route Runner and struggles on press coverage.

There is not a team in the league that would take Samuel over DJ

even for a deep threat he still averages less yard per catch than DJ

Samuel is slot or 3rd maybe # 2

DJ can be a number one on most teams in the NFL

I watch the games seen DJ make catches Samuel cant

Really? I like Minnesota and watch their games. Teddy sucked,.. really really sucked.

Case Keenum replaced him and threw a lot more touchdowns and a lot less interceptions and took them to the playoffs including the Minnesota Miracle...

what did Teddy do again?

as far as creating a post, far too many have post creation privileges that need to be revoked.

    • Well, the whole rationale used  for the high IQ point guard is it would allow us to spend our resources elsewhere….instead it’s all our first rounders ever since to support the bad pick.  Reality is our front office is just bad.  If you wanted Bryce Young you were going to need to do something unique and special for him.  Instead we just insert a QB with traditional tools into old NFL concepts that pair with traditional talent and our pass game is whack
    • Good to see some other folks are speaking the same language on this. It's simple common sense. But it seems like there's a disconnect due to the misplaced value the team has put on Thielen because he was the only vaguely good veteran WR willing to sign with the Panthers after we traded away DJ Moore. That time has come and gone. We have two first round WR's on the roster now.
    • Yeah I’m turning this into a Bryce can’t play QB thread. Just stating that offense was a poo show two years ago. No QB is succeeding in that, much less a rookie. I feel like it’s become a common debate strategy on here to just jump down the rabbit hole of saying he is just bad in so many ways when any certain point gets countered. If that doesn’t work we can deflect to how poorly this team has been ran. In regards to the actual point we are debating, the OL was struggling, half of the skill players aren’t on a roster, Mingo has done nothing with his new team and the staff are either not coaching or on their 3rd team in 3 years, aside from McCown (I liked McCown too). Honestly about as bad as it gets. No need to try to state how good of an offense it was billed it because that has been proven false at this point.
