Saving a buck? Could have traded Cam if he got him to training camp and CONTROLLED a trade situation.

If he's healthy and in this division Rhules career is OVER. Set up by his boss to fail. HE could have coached Cam Newton.

What the hell are you trying to say here?

Cam couldn't be released until he could pass a physical, he delayed his foot surgery so he was unable to take, and pass a physical.  32 teams didn't want him on their roster at his current contract number....think about that....32 teams didn't want to pay Cam $20M.

When this virus shut down the NFL, it was really hard to get a physical done on Cam, and the moment the team was able, he was out the door.

This isn't complicated, and this isn't about Tepper being spiteful as you say.

There was no way they were going to keep Cam Newton and sign Teddy Bridgewater.

They chose Bridgewater. It may turn out to be the right decision. It may not.

No, and neither do you.

Nobody knows what's going to happen.

So you are telling me the probability of Tepper and Hurney making this a competitive team in 2 years with TB is above 50% after the decisions they've just made?

I'd bet less than that considering our division and NOW the X factor in NO or ATL in newly kicked in the ars Cam Newton. Healthy.

I'll bet Cams injury against TBs, how about that one too.

I think you're both assuming a whole lot here.

Which part?

This is an assumption, and a likely one...if Cam Newton were able to pass a physical before the Combine, I feel strongly that unless the Panthers were asking for a stupid trade, that he would have been traded.

The money, and the health associated with Cam is the reason he is no longer a Panther, and remains unsigned.  Unless you think it's something else?

The game of musical chairs at QB was over. Cam had 0 opportunity to hit the market.

So you want the team to make a bad football and financial move so that the QB that they are moving on from has a better chance at a starting job elsewhere?

Cam has always approached surgery as a last resort while trying non-surgical rehab efforts first. I think it's a pretty big stretch to think he was trying to game the system since it fits with his approach to injuries throughout his career.

I'm not on board with everything that's been done, but I don't know the future.

And neither do you.

Ah, that part.

I'm not sure if he was trying to use the injury as leverage, and I brought it up way back when in a thread on here...but it certainly could be true?  It also could be true that he simply is afraid of going under the knife, or possibly that he just always believes in his body's ability to heal.

What I am fairly positive about, is that had he gotten the surgery when the injury occurred, we wouldn't have this complete mess on our hands in March.

You can always elect to have surgery later. You can't undo surgery once it's done. It's not unreasonable to pursue other avenues first, especially with the types of tricky to manage injuries Cam has had.
