The "boot strap" crowd only supports people getting money they didn't "work" for if it is them. Funny how that works.

Yeah, part of working in a hazardous field is signing contracts that pay you even if you get hurt WHILE YOU WERE WORKING.

That's how professions and occupations whose employees get injured on the regular GET PEOPLE TO ACTUALLY DO THE DAMN JOB.

If people who work in hazardous jobs that work under contract didn't have their contracts pay them after they were injured IN THE PROGRESS OF DOING THEIR DAMN JOB, guess what?

NOBODY WOULD DO THOSE DAMN JOBS.

"But, golly, Cam got hurt doing a job that people get hurt at quite often!  How DARE he demand that he get paid according to his legal contract!  Damn slacker didn't EARN it!"

That is just people who are dumb as a box of rocks.  Its really sad.

I love the people who get upset at the money athletes get, too. "It's BS man, they shouldn't be getting all that money."

Let's ignore the fact that the industry generates billions of dollars; let's ignore the fact that the owners get billions that other people work for; let's also ignore that those are FREE MARKET RATES.

Every time someone says that to me, I ask them, "Is it fair that you make more than someone cooking fries at McDonald's? It is? Then shut the fug up about the money they make. Go be an athlete then. Put in the hard work it took to get good enough at something to be paid as a professional."

Cam balls out, then 2021 he gets paid by somebody. Whether or not that's NE, who knows. Somebody will want him if he shows he's every bit as good as he was before injury. And having the nod from Belichick is a big deal. If Cam gets them in the playoffs, he's probably getting a 3-5 year deal making north of 25 mil per. Not bad.

If Cam falls short, he at least had an opportunity. At that point it'd be about whether he would take a role that isn't a starter. But I am not expecting it. Hungry Cam could be very dangerous. He came into the league trying to prove himself and we saw what that looked like (god if we had a defense those first couple seasons...)

If there's anything resembling an ounce of humility within the Panthers coaching or FO, it'll be the Panthers.

Teppers too arrogant for that. No way that happens as much as I would love it

    • Purdy only passed for 127 yards week 18 and then only passed for 108 yards in the playoffs. In those two games he had 0 TD's and 2 INT's and a fumble. Mayes in the Superbowl had a total of 63 yards with 0 TDS at the 13 minute mark in the fourth quarter. He only had success when the Seahawks went into prevent defense. Philip Rivers only had 127 total yards in week 15. Boomer with the Vikings had 126 yards and 4 INTS in week 13. Cousins had 167 yrds week 14 and while it was over 150 yards, he also had 2 INTs with 0 TDs. Yeah Young didn't have a good game but neither did any of these other QBs. And while he had the lowest yardage, he was the only other QB that at least had a TD - Philips had the other.
    • He has to have a great year not a great few games...probably gonna have to finish with a winning record too for the first time as well. Front office has all the leverage, havent got much on the return for trading up in the draft no matter what bryce fans want to say. They have no reason to offer an extension right now. All the talk about his personality is just deflection off the talk about money. You can be the nicest guy in the world, it doesnt win games or make you a top 10 QB. They know that, spending all that money on the O line and drafting multiple offensive players in the first round of past drafts says a QB should have better production than what we have seen so far. We have to lean on a run game more to be productive in games rather than a qb we traded up to no.1 for. You can easily draft a more talented QB on a cheaper contract and get the same results bryce has given you so far. Thats the truth.
    • I will go out on a limb and say this was the biggest win since 06.
