Saints DTs and Lance Moore are out for Sunday

yeah, it's kind of like pre-moss/welker patriots (without the rings).

Q: who is brady's (brees') favorite target?

A: the open man

moore, nor any saints receiver, needs to catch a but load of passes or have a ton of targets. all they have to do is occupy defenders. someone will get open.

with moore out there are less options. meachum has never been as good as advertised. colston is the real deal. shockey is good when he isn't hurt (give him time) as is bush (again, give him time). henderson helps a lot also but the point is, with moore out things take a slight shift in our favor. add in their DTs being gone and our defense coming together....panthers have a legit shot.

if the panthers beat the saints in new orleans...panthers could very well sweep them. wouldn't that be nice?

I agree with everything except "wouldn't that be nice?" LOL

No sweep, I am sorry, not this year. I know in my heart this is a different Saints team. You guys have improved since the slow start but it will not be enough this week.

Well damn. We should not even show up. It is official......STSGRL knows in her heart that the Saints will win.:D

Imagine that....a homer fan feeling confident. We have a few of those around here too.

I am confident the Panthers will win. I know in my heart that we have turned the corner.

 :smilielol5:

this is what you get when your franchise sucks donkey balls for four decades and then starts to look like they might possibly do something maybe.

remi ayodele has been the starter at DT since week two and anthony hargrove looks like a young La Roi Glover so i'm not worried there. our problems last week were on the edges because our OLBs are terrible.

They should end up looking even worse this week when they go against the best running back tandem in the NFL.

you better hope so. a panthers win in the dome makes a sweep pretty likely.

it might also mean a return to the saints old ways.

if i were a saints fan...my confidence would be a bit shaky. knowing the saints history i'd view the success this year as a house of cards and your just waiting for something to happen to make it all fall down.

this week could be the beginning of the end for what could be the best year the saints have ever known.

a key game like this and being without just a few key elements on the thing that has made the saints really relevant and respectable (defense) this year could signal a collapse.

the panthers....if we win, awesome. if we lose? how much different would it be from the rest of the season so far? our expectations for this year are low anyway. saints have more to lose in this game than the panthers. panthers aren't supposed to win this one. the saints are supposed to blow the panther out.

2006 the saints started 5-1, the saints ended up going 10-6 or 5-5 the rest of the season, still made the playoffs though. Not really a choke per see, but the second half of that season was quite a bit worse.

Other then that nothing of note recently as far as having a bad second half of the season or choking a good start away.

Saints have always had a big problem with staying healthy. Past years it's been used as an excuse as to why they haven't performed. With some starters out and the injuries starting to pile up, these fans still seem confident they can win despite the injuries this year. However, as this confidence stands right now, and if the Saints downward spiral, we better not hear injuries as an excuse.

Personally, I'm still not sold on the Saints. Yes they are 7-0. Yes they've actually won close games this year. But one thing I know is.. they ALWAYS have that really bad game. once or twice a year. It might not be sunday. It might not be another couple weeks. But it'll happen. And if I were a saints fan, i'd rather have it now than in the playoffs. Trust a Carolina fan on that.
