Jake lost yet another game for us

I don't see how you can put the blame on Delhomme for this one. When your coaches run the ball on 3rd and long multiple times, you can't blame the qb. Jake looked great today throwing the ball, he threw two great long balls that recievers gave up on. Dwill, it's a love hate relationship here, he got us where we needed, but couldn't hold onto the ball and make the TD catch at the end. On a upnote, Jarret looked awesome today, and hope he continues to get the start.

Jake was not the problem except in the sense of not being allowed to win it for us. The playcalling was conservative, predictable and ineffective. And like usual this year the difference was turnovers. But it wasn't Jake who caused them but our running backs who killed us when we needed sone big plays. Jake had a good game and when given a chance to throw the ball did a great job. We had some crucial drops especially the dropped pass by Williams in the endzone. Then the funble on the 2 when he was not even touched.

Jake and Smitty should be pissed that neither was trusted enough to get the job done when both of them were very good when given the chance.

Anyone who thinks Jake was the problem is just a hater and idiot.

As for the defense we tackled poorly in the second half and they had a few big plays. Still we were in a position to be able to win it at the end. The plays that we made last year, we aren't making this year which is the difference between 3-5 this year versus 6-2 last year. Each week we seem to find a way to lose.

The team collapsed... thats what happens usually when one thing goes wrong, rest just follows

And please stop saying the play calling hand cuffed him, and we dont let him do anything. His last drive we had a chance to take the lead and he couldn't complete the passes. Then held onto it too long and took a sack on 4th down. He's just messing up the whole entire rotation. Only chemistry we have is the RB and the o-line blocking for them as they run the ball

If you can't see the playcalling was awful and that Jake played well, then no amount of discussion will help. You choose to make up whatever you can't find in reality and color it with your own negative perceptions. There were a bunch of villians today but Jake was surely not one of them. He consistently put the ball where it needed to be and if given a better chance may have pulled it out for us. You can't make completions when you aren't allowed to throw it.

and why do you think we are running on 3rd and long, 3rd and Medium? Because our QB is the 30th ranked in the league and is a liability. He's lost the receivers also, they don't know where he's throwing the ball and for good reason.

your secondary didn't play bad...Brees is that good. Had an off day and went off for 340.

Don't act so ridiculous. We handed the game to you on a silver platter with turnovers. Brees had 2 good pass plays which we helped with poor tackling. But most of his yards were short meaningless passes. He was not that great nor was your defense. Our running backs made several errors and our playcalling was abysmal. You need to take the victory and go slink back to the bayou very lucky to have escaped today.

Jake didnt play well by any means. He just didnt make any mistakes because the coaching staff is trying to so hard to hide him so he cant make any. The ONLY thing that is holding this team back is the passing game. Not just Jake but the lack of WR's too.

Hard to catch Jake's passes when your not 6' 7"

How many WR's do we have that are that tall?

Plus I agree with what another poster said, I think the WRs aren't trying.

Jake hangs them out to dry with so many bad passes, they deem it not worthy to put themselves on the line anymore.

He leads them straight into defenders or makes them leave their feet for a circus catch. Don't blame em really.

dude, wake up; he threw for 340 and had an off day. Our offense went for mid 400's and had a so so day. You are right; imagine if Brees and co would've been on!

exactly, Jake has been Long, short and behind all year long with passes, leads the league in INT"s. And has contributed to some demoralizing losses.....at some point you lose the WR's.

look at how bad Randy Moss was in Oakland for a comparison.

Steve Smith and company to be running their routes with confidence knowing there is a good chance they'll catch a ball in stride vs. a horrible throw placing them in a vulnerable position to potentially get laid out and hurt by defense.

There is no question that the problem was poor playcalling today. We all know that Davidson was going to run at all costs to keep pressure off Jake because Davidson doesn't trust him to win the game like last year. But Davidson has to have a connection with Jake and know when to put the ball in his hands and when not to. Jake was on target and except for a first quarter overthrow was putting the ball in good position today. Davidson has to recognize that. When Jake is struggling he has to change his playcalling in order to protect him. On the other side, when Jake who is streaky gets on, he needs to let him throw it especally when we are behind. And today he was more than capable to win it in the end.

Not today though and that is what we are talking about. Each game stands on it own and have to evaluated based on that and not last week or last month.
