Troy Pride vs Zach Sanchez

People with very short attention spans tend to forget what it looked like when rookies Bradberry and Worley were trotted out there. I'm at least willing to give Pride an offseason and to about mid-season next year before declaring him trash. The lack of Safety help has been obvious time and again, and possibly made some plays look worse than they were. There was a few plays during the last game that were very obvious Tre was supposed to provide help, and chose to peel off in the wrong direction. If he goes where the play dictates these big plays don't happen. This comes down to a was that play design or poor decision on the player. Again I will wait to hold judgment for now, as it has not been nearly long enough to say, and also to the OP I would have to say already leaps and bounds better than Sanchez who never saw the field.

You’re so good at understanding what you see but can’t understand that it took Elder 4 seasons and being cut once to finally start learning to how to play cornerback in the NFL. Pride is a rookie. Don’t understand fans like you.

I understand that one is playing well and one isn't. I don't think you really understand terribly much at all.

Most likely because you just simply aren't a Panthers fan at all, same as about half the dimwitted trolls in here.

You’re the troll dude. Trashing Pride who is a rookie and hasn’t been terrible this season, but praising a 4th year guy who is just now starting to play well. Go troll yourself.

But... Elder has been solid so far. Who cares if he's been in the league for 4 years? The guys is playing well in the current scheme. Kyle love was cut like 4 or 5 times before he landed with us, then he was a solid but not spectacular contributor for years.

Some guys take more time to develop. Some guys shine in certain schemes.

Of all our DBs, Corn is not at the top of the list of issues so far this season.

Pride on the other hand... Has not looked good. I honestly do not agree with the assessments of many in this thread. Dude looks like a 4th round rookie out there. I have not seen flashes. I have not seen good ball skills. I have seen a guy get beat a lot.

You stated “Some guys take more time to develop.” Pride is a friggn’ rookie. A rookie!

So because Elder played well after 5 years, teams should give every rookie 5 years to develop before evaluating anything they do?How many other players fit this criteria vs. the ones that struggled and never developed at all?

You're strangely defensive about this. I didn't say he is garbage or a bust and that he'll always suck forever. I said "He has not looked good... He looks like a 4th round rookie... He's getting beat a lot". All true.

Again, he's a 4th round rookie. He is playing at my expectation level of him (which is not very high). I hope to see improvement as the year goes on and into next year, but I'm not going to lie and say he's playing well when he's not, and I'm not going to say I have high expectations for him, when I don't.

I said the same about Corn his rookie year. We can only wait to see if he develops. Odds are not in his favor though. Corn finally playing well is also a surprise.
