That oline and CB lineup with bridgewater out might set us up for a lengendary beatdown . Yikes.

Detroit has 2 games this week, so i am wondering if they rest Stafford (thumb) for the National Audience?  I dunno.

Definitely glad to hear there wasn’t any structural damage to Teddy’s knee, but I agree it’s probably better to sit him for a week and recover, especially since y’all OL is pretty beat up as well.

No sense in sending him back out there just to get hammered more and risk further injury.

Well, in retrospect, we did trade Turner for Okung. Turner played some in the first game and has rode the bench since.

I’d rather have gotten a pick or just let him play and get us a comp pick. No way we should extend him, so either release and just save cap or trade and get a pick and save cap. Paying through the nose for guys coming off major injuries has been a huge waste. We spent more on those guys than we will spend on CMC for 2020-2022.

A GM needs to know when our star QB isn’t healthy and isn’t in our long term plans and not throw poo (lots of cap) at the wall on injured players other people didn’t want to get us to 8-18.

    • In all honesty, no one knows if Dan really pushed for Bryce to be drafted. It's not fair to Dan to say that just because he was a part of the Fitterer regime then he was in full support of drafting Bryce. If the HC, Reich at the time really wanted Stroud but got bullied into drafting Bryce then Dan had even less say so in the matter. Dan was also saddled with giving Bryce an opportunity to compete in years 2/3 because of the cost to trade up and get him by ownership.  Outside of managing the QB position, Dan has made good moves and built a decent roster. Solidified the O-line and D-line, drafted contributors, and made good trades (Mike Jackson), and free agent signings (Dowdle). I do believe that this offseason will be really important for Dan and we'll see whose side he is clearly on. Bryce has had plenty of time and opportunity to prove himself and he has failed, if Dan is a Bryce homer he'll give him another year and pick up the 5th year option. If Dan isn't a Bryce homer, he'll move on from Bryce. Either way, we'll find out this offseason.
    • You also have to extend him and probably deal/cut Bryce
    • Jones would be what he is if he was on this team, a fairly middle of the road game manager. Still and upgrade but probably not worth the price the 49ers may want for him. If it's not something stupid in terms of ask and he doesn't want something even more stupid in terms of longish term contract, I am okay with a middling game manager until we can do better through the draft. The one thing that wouldn't be terrible is some stability at QB. That has almost never happened under Tepper.
