Should be a fun year

I was totally against Ball as my perception was that he was a diva. Now that I’ve seen him interviewed a couple of times, he comes across really well. I’m actually impressed by his demeanor and he seems really happy to be here.

I though we spent way to much on Hayward, but man does he fill a void as a shooter and a leader for the young guys with his work ethic and preparation. I like the Biz deal (I’m assuming we didn’t give him that much) for his contagious energy and work ethic.

So I’ve done a 180 and I’m really excited about this season. We should be really fun to watch, and we should win a fair share of games.

So when does the season actually start? I thought it was 12/22 but I have yet to see our schedule.

Season starts December 22. This year the 7/8 seeds will play each other to see who gets in the Playoffs as the 7th seed. The loser of that will play the winner of the 9/10 seeds to see who gets the 8th seed. Should be fun. We have improved on paper and the unis are sweet. We’ll see how it plays on the court. I’m just a bit confused. Letting Kemba walk but signing Hayward a season later. This season should be fun with some teams being vastly improved too. Atlanta should be pretty good if they can get Bogdan.

Hayward, if healthy, is a much more valuable player to this team. Health is my biggest concern with him but the fit really is perfect otherwise.

    • Through 2 games cltfc has 12 shot attempts. Opponents 23 shots on target. Attack sucks, Defense definitely sucks. Kahlina is the only reason they haven't given up 14 goals in two games.
    • I met a few times--never liked him. I figured he might have had a bad day--but then realized that he must have a lot of bad days. Once he raised his voice at my son because my son did not understand a question when SS was signing his jersey.  I wanted the jersey to represent his encounter with a Panther great, not some small man with a bad attitude.  I told me son, "Forget it.  He was asking you what your name is (My son was about 7 and told me that he thought Smitty was going to write (my son's) name on the jersey.  He said "Dad, I thought he was supposed to write HIS name on the jersey, not mine."  I said, "He was personalizing it, writing it to you--like a birthday card."  He is now grown, and he has a steve smith Jersey that is framed and matted.  He keeps it is his closet.  I asked him, "Why not have that out on your wall?"  He said, "All I remember is an A-hole scribbled on my shirt.  I don't remember a legend or hero.  But he had a Jake Delhomme Jersey on his wall.  "Jake was great.  I will always remember that."  (Jake stayed and talked to us for about 5 minutes or more--GREAT guy.)
    • Is it possible for someone to regress in maturity as they age or has Steve really just been a jerk his entire life?
