This is reality. See KC, NE, SEA, Colts, Broncos, etc etc. 

Yep. It's why Cam's demise was such a tough pill to swallow. Elite QBs don't exactly grown on trees. Most teams go through a period of flailing after losing their franchise QB. The Montana to Young and Favre to Rodgers type stories are very much the exception and not the rule.

Exactly. Its the equivalent of breaking up with your girl and still living in the same house. Does nobody any good, go your separate ways and start over
