Bridgewater "running out of time"

Signing terrible players is a great way to install wining schemes? Sounds like panther logic.

in a shortened covid season?  yeah, I actually think it made sense and was the right call.

Hence why we have overperformed.  We were suppose to be HORRIBLE this year.  People are mad because there are arguments we could of won nearly every game we have played.  Should of won a lot.

Part of that is because the team was able to learn the O quickly.  Teddy was probably the right guy for 2020.  To help build the O from scratch.  That was his function.   That has been done.  It clearly worked IMO.  Worked so well, now everyone is outraged that we aren't going to go 12-4 because Teddy isn't more than he is.

I thought we would go 6-10 so to me we underperformed.

Reid saw an opportunity to snag an elite talent and pounced in it. Smart. But just because Smith and Teddy have some of the same characteristics doesn't make then the same guy. Best vs. best, Smith was a lot better than Teddy will ever be but still not elite.

I refer to Jake Delhomme as a Brett Favre type.   Same type QB.  Above the shoulders.  Doesn't mean Favre wasn't better or they had comparable skill sets.

I never was under the illusion Teddy could or would make the throws Joe Brady needs to for his offense to legitimately run.   Therefore, I don't get mad.  I always viewed him as an easy tool to get the O scheme installed quickly.  I think we will draft a QB.

Wrong issue.

The one that Bridgewater isn't to blame for is the failure of the coaches to communicate to him that they wanted to wait till the two minute warning before running a play.

Teddy should have checked with the sidelines if he needed to know what to do.  You mean to tell me that he just winged it because he didn't hear from the sideline?

I'm not buying what he's selling.  Hell even I knew what they should've done and I was only partially paying attention.  I can't believe that someone on the team wasn't screaming over the fake crowd noise if Teddy/Brady were that incompetent.  If Teddy knew the "system" so well he should've known what to do in that situation if Brady was leaving it up to him to make the call.  Since Teddy ran what he did it's on him.

We won 4 without CMC.    CMC has been out essentially all year.  We have been in every game at the end but 1.

I'm sure that 6-10 mark had a CMC playing all season.

What else is he supposed to do?

In hurry up mode you hurry up, unless somebody tells you different. Apparently, no one did.

To be clear, Bridgewater isnt good enough. And yeah, he's responsible for a lot of mistakes, especially yesterday.

Just not this one.

No, the smart fans are outraged that we wasted future comp picks and money/cap flexibility moving forward, while still losing enough to be in the top 10 of the draft, but not quite enough to land you a top quarterback to build around for the future.

Once again, the Panthers Front Office is extremely shortsighted.

To be fair though, those are mistakes of execution.

We probably would have done that regardless of what the plan was.

well, I still think we can land a solid young QB.   Do we land the once in decade QB? Nope.   Essentially no drafts ever have those anyway.  We should have our pick of QBs 3-5

As a vet he should have checked with the sideline as the situation changed.  It's a convenient excuse to say I was only doing what was told to do, I knew it was wrong but I didn't hear from the coach again so I assumed they wanted me to continue.

Teddy is not as good of a mentor as they portray him to be.  That's my point.

And an NFL head coach should have known that if you want something done a certain way, it's a good idea to actually tell somebody.

Right now, it doesn't even sound like Joe Brady knew. So even if Bridgewater had checked with the sidelines, it likely wouldn't have changed a thing.

This one is on Matt Rhule. It's a "heat of the moment" mistake, and likely not the only one he's made.

Yea, I would have much preferred a smart approach to building this roster vs. wasting cap space and draft picks to hope that Teddy is something that he's never been.

This team needed a top to bottom scrubbing, we half assed it....like usual, and it will take us much longer to round the corner because of it.
