Fox has in fact lost this team

Idividuals sure. But if a whole enitre team plays hard for 60 minutes vs the best, then its a pretty safe assumption that they havent quit on there coach.

If this team or any other quits on there coach it''ll be fairly obvious.

i agree, and looking back at 07 or any other year we have been in the toliet....the coach has never had so many people directly call out the job that is done as has occured this early in the season. For me, I don't look at guys not giving 100% really as the sign.....I look at what may be a lack of respect for the coaches and a lack of repsect for what they believe is best for team as the real sign a team is lost.

He's lost five games, he hasn't lost the team. I'm sure the five losses bother him more than they do anyone on this board.

He has lost the patience of a bunch of "What Have You Done For Me Lately" fans who leave games early, have unrealistic expectations of events they have no control over, and have overinflated senses of their own football knowledge. This, however, problem doesn't bother him all that much, and why should it?

Fox is busy getting the team ready to beat Atlanta on Sunday. And we're here, ummm, well, doing nothing of any real value for the team or our lives, right?

Sorry, read the Observer article after I wrote that about Smitty on the sideline after the low/late out of bounds hit. He was yelling about the hit. He always yells about the hit. To quote Smitty,

Point being, if you're not there you don't know crap. Which is what I said before.

Quoting Moose:

Which again, is what I said before. All WR's want the ball more. He in no way talked that he thinks our coaching is pathetic. He talked about how he sees coaching in general in the NFL.

Don't be a dipshit. You're doing nothing but putting your own feelings into other people's mouths and pretending that it justifies your feelings.

You want "lose the team"? Search for 1998 clips of the Panthers on the sidelines and Capers' interviews. With how intrawebs savvy you are, you shouldn't have any problem. :)

Even team defender Darin Gantt wrote an article about how Smitty paid no attention to Sharper and the hit and everything said was directly to Fox and the coaches about playcalling.....Darin also remarked that Fox wasn't living in reality when he suggested Smith was bitching at Sharper. The game was live on TV....and you could easily read what Smith said....

Moose....after stating what he believed was wrong w/ the playcalling and what he though should be done......and what isn't being done he says "That’s totally on our coaches to decide when to do those things.” It is clearly a polite way of saying the coaches aren't calling the game right in order to win.

Smitty yelling about the hit :sifone:.....lol, looks like Fox isn't the only one who needs to open there eyes to reality.

So you are saying that Smitty and Moose are lying? Or that what they said, what I QUOTED, was made up by someone else that just looks like them and gets to hang out in the locker room?

Do you know the difference between reality and fiction? Between listening to what is said instead of hearing what you want to hear?

Did you find any of the 1998 Panthers stuff I told you to look for?

I am saying you can't hide from the big eye in the sky.....there is no debate about what occured w/ Smitty. He unloaded on the coaches....it is on film. Nothing was directed at Sharper. Watch a game or read Fox/Panther defenders like Gantt....even Gantt will tell you what occured. There are 1000 things you can pick out of my post to argue over.....this ain't one.

Smitty has been asked multiple times about it and is not commenting on it in various different responses.....that doesn't somehow mean it didn't occur or that he was telling Sharper "don't ever call that f'ing dumba$$ play again" and yet that somehow meant he was mad at Sharper.

A couple of weeks back I would say that yes it was begining to look as if Fox was losing this team. However, I just don't see that on the field. He might be losing Smith but that is only one player.

I think the bigger issue here is that Delhomme, the leader of this team, has lost this team. The Panther players like Smith, Moose, Williams and Gross love Delhomme and to see him go down this way has to be hard on them. It's easy for us to hate Delhomme because we are just fans but Smith, for example, was probably only really close with one person on this entire team and that was Jake. Now, this one true friend has become the reason for his struggles as well. That a hard thing to deal with and I think the reason we are seeing all of these outbursts we are not use to seeing.

And before everyone goes and starts blaming Fox for allowing this to happen and that the players know that ect. ect. No, not only does these players love Jake they love Fox almost as much. However, I do agree with Zod's assesment that Fox's attention to detail and the drive at which he pushes his players to achieve those details have tappered over the years which seems to happen with every long term coach.

He hasn't lost the team - things are rough right now but guys like Smith are still avoiding calling him out. You'll know when Fox has lost this team because Smith will be the first one to call him out by name and throw him under the bus.

I do think this coaching staff is in danger of losing the team if the offensive playcalling doesn't change. When Moose, who is a team guy all the way starts questioning the playcalling something needs to be done quickly... he's one of the veteran leaders in the locker room (as evidenced by the team voting him the union team rep) and when he really starts to doubt and grumble, it will spread to the younger guys quickly.

Why again did we bring in an OC from the Browns?

Because he's helped established us a top 5 rushing attack for two years? That he helped us be a a top ten offence last year?

Matt Moore is worse than Jake. If he wasn't, then he would be starting.

Fox doesn't have a blind love of Jake, or any Panther player. Fox loves his family, and his incredible paycheck.

Fox would start Moore if he were the better QB, no matter how high Jake's salary.

1. Jake

2. Moore

3. Feely <-Doesn't know the offense

I have said that I want Moore to start, but that's mostly because I can't look at Jake any longer. Even the sight of the #17 is starting to bother me. We would be a SB caliber team if we had a good QB. We would have beaten the holy crap out of the Saints if not for Jake.

The hunt for a good QB begins in full as soon as the season ends imo. Until then, just close your eyes whenever Jake throws. If you hear *intercepted*, then turn the channel for a while. Then when you switch back, it'll be like we punted. If you're at the game, then god help you, because Jake won't.
