Delhomme doesn't lead league in int's anymore!!!

Cutler's 15 TD's > Delhomme's 5 TD's (points are what counts)

Delhomme Fumbles Lost 3 X Cutler's Fumbles Lost

Anybody that expected Delhomme to have a bunch of TD passes were misguided in the first place. The Panthers would run it 90% of the time in the redzone no matter who the QB is, because our RB's are usually money down there.

.It is obvious to all but the most brain-dead observer that the coaching staff, contrary to what they say, does not have faith that Jake can run the offense without causing problems. They are trying to work around him and win despite him being in there.

Yes, the receivers are not getting open very often. But half the times when they do, Jake misses them badly. He has thrown several INTs when targeting a wide open receiver by either overthrowing them or throwing behind them.

This begs the question, is Matt Moore so god-awful that the coaches think trying to work around Delhomme is better than trying to something different? Also, if Moore is that bad, that Jake is a better option, why is he still on the roster at all?

I'm not saying that I think Moore would be the saving grace for this season. But I really fail to see how he could make it any worse.

Another just as valid take on this is that Fox has always wanted to run the ball on every play and last year it didn't gel until the end of the season. This year we came out throwing for whatever reason and it backfired on us so he went back to the run again. It may be that Davidson wanted to pass and Fox wanted to run. When the passing game didn't work out it gave Fox grounds to insist we run. If we pass it is sure short passes which are often considered an extention of the run game.

It might not matter who we have in at quarterback, we aren't going to throw that much unless we have to. Jake hasn't thrown a pick in the past 2 games but I expect we come out running and pass when we need to. I bet we would be balanced even if Brees were here.

So far we have only run 20 more times than we have thrown it and we have more passing first downs compared to rushing ones. We are actually running the same mix of rushing and passing plays we did last year.

Great math there. He hasn't thrown a pick in his last 44 passing attempts against New Orleans and Arizona. Somehow if he threw 8 more attempts I rather doubt he would get very many interceptions. Against Atlanta he threw 41 times and the only pick was a 4th down play where the ball was going to go over to the Falcons if Smitty didn't catch it either.

Give me a break. If you are going to jump on Jake when he sucks at least man up enough to give him credit when he plays better. It isn't like you won't get a chance to bash him when he sucks again down the road.

Give jake credit for what? Throwing a hundred yards per game? Just because he didn't throw any ints doesn't mean he's playing good. Get it through your head. Jake is still a bad qb no matter what cutler does

Bottom line is that for a quarterback the stats are what matters. And yes if a quarterback doesn't throw picks and makes first downs he is playing well just like when he throws picks he is playing bad. Get it through your head, football is about what you do lately. You can play bad and then good all within a span of several games.

We didn't get first downs because of jake we got them because of the running backs. We have to rely on them so much just so jake can't screw it up. Throwing for one hindred yards is not a good game. He's being asked to move out the way so he doesn't kill this team more than he already has. That's all he has done lately

All year or against New Orleans. For the year we have 75 first downs passing and 63 rushing. Against New Orleans is was 9 first down rushing and 11 passing. And he passed for over 200 yards.

Wrong on all counts like usual. Why not go back to trolling on something that is harder to prove like how many opposing fans there were on a particular Sunday.

That's because the saints committed nine men in the box on third down. Even a terrible qb like can take advantage of that on occasion. jake still one of the worst passer ratings in the nfl even with his stud like performance last week lol. Ill go back to counting fans when you stop slurping every mediocre player and coach on the team

We aren't running the same mix....we are running close to the same number. What occured against AZ and NO isn't John Fox football that he has had success with. His conservative run, run, run offense ONLY works when you add in the deep play action balls. That has been taken out now.....taken out b/c everyone knows it is too big of a risk w/ Jake.

Run, run, safe throw, run, safe throw, run, run...is not John Fox football. Fox may be conservative but w/o going downfield it just isn't going to work.

    • Some of you act like one can't learn from experience over time. Just because you may not know what you're doing in 2018 doesn't mean that you don't know what you're doing in 2025. Frankly, you grow from experience, and success and excellence gives first-time applicants the hand probably 99.999% of the time.
    • It's an interesting topic of conversation as sports evolves. I think ultimately it would lead to a number of small market franchises folding though. Especially in the NBA where there are so many bad teams that have been bad for years and years in some cases already. But as it stands I think athlete pay draft or no draft aside has reached a point where we can and should realistically ask should they make that much compared to the average person. Now college athletes is a different conversation but even that reaches a breaking point. But we could go down the rabbit hole on this even further into overall entertainment and talk about actors making absurd sums too. In the end I think in sports the powers that be won't allow these changes to even be considered because it opens the door for so many other variables. But who knows how long sports like football will realistically be around after people like us pass on. We're only just now learning about things like CTE which the league and the sport in general will only be able to run away from for so long. As far as the NBA goes my understanding is viewership has been steadily going down for a number of reasons but one crucial aspect is key players missing so many games. The NBA has to figure that out regardless. Especially when considering fans who pay to see these athletes compete in person. But hey I guess let's just try to appreciate what we've got while it still exists in this form eh?
    • I can't see a world where the money goes down, but maybe your lottery odds are now your contract numbers you can offer.  Thunder? You can offer Flagg 4 years, 20 million.  Hornets? You can offer Flagg 4 years, 80 million.  Some form of a system where the money is still there, but so is the freedom of choice (on top of bad teams getting *some* competitive advantage to signing them).
