Panthers are going to make some noise.... a Viking perspective

I still remember him begging for pro-bowl votes on the jets sideline. He also seems kinda peeved that his boy Teddy is gone and may not get the bulk of the targets anymore.

If he was at OTAs I probably would not view him as harshly. I realize he has played with The Darnold before but every rep counts. Guys that get that go a long way in this league, guys that don't move teams a lot.

IDC if he shows up for OTA's as long as he shows up for the games. I have no concerns about him.

I have no issues with that, just does not seem right to me, but to each his own.

I don't know the scenario so I am not gonna judge him. I care that he produces during the season.

If that doesn't happen and he lags behind the rest of the WR corps, then he deserves all the scorn you can pile on.

I dont know the scenario either, but as one of the top guys on offense I think he would only benefit from attending. I guess with him not there it does allow the younger guys to get more reps, so that is a positive I suppose.

I also care that he produces during the games. He is a Panther for now so I will support him.

It is OTA's and not training camp. I would be more concerned of he wasn't there for training camp.

He's probably butthurt. He was likely hoping for, maybe expecting an extension. Instead, we drafted his replacement. I expect him to show up with a chip on his shoulder at camp. He's playing to audition elsewhere for his next contract.

This, that is my only beef with the guy. He seems like a holdout type of guy, instead of a show up and produce type of guy. If he plays well enough i dont think we let him walk without making an offer, but as it stands this is his last year as a Panther.

Yeah, I get that OTAs are not mandatory but come on.  Your job is WR on an NFL team.  The team is having workouts with a new QB.  IDC if he knows what Sam can and cannot do. Especially since you have a ton of new WRs on the team. You're supposed to be a leader of the WR Corps.  If you are truly dedicated to your job that pays you millions of dollars.  YOU SHOW UP.

    • Disclaimer:  In June, I am usually optimistic.  In October, a policeman with a bullhorn is telling me that I have a lot of life ahead of me and to think about my loved ones as I gaze down upon him from my rooftop.   Having said that, I think our offense (down the stretch) was good enough to play KC and Philly tough.  So how many games would this offense have won if they played the entire season like they did in November-January and if they had a better defense?   If you could stretch the last nine games over an entire season and put a solid defense on the other side, I see 5 wins becoming 7 or 8.  Down the stretch, the Panther D surrendered 30 points or more in 5 of the final 7 games and managed to win 2 of those 5.  If they can win 40% of games in which their defense surrenders 30 points or more, then the math indicates, had that been the case all season, the Panthers should have won 6 or 7 games with their defense surrendering 30+ points.   This season, we are much better at WR (TMac, Renfrow, Horn, and I expect XL to be a lot better).  Bryce is confident and now a leader.    The Achilles' heel of the 2024 defense, the DL, seems to be very solid.  We got back Horn and Jackson on the corners, Smith-Wade is improving better than expected, we signed a stud Safety.  Derrick Brown returns.  While the D is not there yet, it is going to be better.   So if we ended the second half of 2024 playing at a level that should have produced 6-7 wins, better WRs and a better defense could result in 9 wins or more.
