How did the D lay an egg last year? Everyone expected that unit to be near the bottom of the league. Finishing middle of the pack was significant exceeding expectations.

Rhule may or may not end up working out, but Tepper is in love. His seat won't start getting warm for at least another year.

Yeah. I don't think he would have preached patience to ticketholders and then turn around and can this guy for not performing well in just two seasons.

IMO, if he finishes season 4 without a winning record, he'll be gone. Save something crazy like going 0-16 in 2022.

For fans, we should probably start being concerned if we have a losing record this season(very, very likely) AND have a losing record in 2022. This would break his normal pattern of quick turnarounds and take the luster off of his reputation as being a miracle worker.

I think Rhule believes this too, which is why we are taking big risks with  Darnold, trading down to acquire more talent, and moneyballing the oline to put resources in the D and O weaponry.

He's trying to win now.

If Darnold, the Oline rookies, Horn, Reddick, and Perryman stay healthy and ball out, we're a winning team.

I would genuinely be concerned if he made that Darnold move due to pressure to win.

So its ok if he did just because he wanted to win?

I mean, aren't all Coaches in veritably  under pressure to win? I mean, isn't that basically in the job description?

lol Way too many people letting the fear of the past drive their thought process for the future. "The Panthers were bad, ergo, they will remain bad", "And if they remain bad, the Coach is gone". Or my new favorite, "If Sam busts, we have to start examining Rhule's ability to evaluate QBs".

Folks harp on the "Sunshine Squad" for being optimistic. Yet see nothing wrong with their being negative. Cuz, you know, same ol Panthers man.

I know.  They like to pretend they have some insight that only they have, that the rest of us don't.  They like to celebrate and harp on team misses and screwups.  Glad they're here tho.  They keep it interesting.

Darnold and the Panthers may crash and burn this year.

I'd rather spend time hoping Darnold and the team succeeds  rather than hoping that they fail so I can be 'right'...even if it means I look like a homer.

The sunshine squad provide perpetual entertainment to the rest of the Huddle every offseason. It is the one constant, homers ignoring reality.

We aren't laughing with you, we're laughing at you......until it actually happens. Then we are both just disgruntled and upset.

If it is a panic move, it probably won't work out(which is likely true, regardless). See the history of Panthers panic roster moves.

This iteration of the Panthers is only 1 year old. Not a whole lot of history there. Kinda puts a kibosh on your theory don't ya think?

I also love how you say "If it is a panic move" which is just a SWAG. Then say "it probably won't work out (which is likely true, regardless). See the history of Panther panic roster moves" like that justifies your guess. lol That's a @Mr. Scotmove. So it's not even an original concept.

I can say, "Rhule and Fitt vetted Sam thoroughly, so this has a chance of working out. Because they are setting him up for success." My opinion is just as valid as yours. But I'm a Sunshine Warrior, so mine is wrong. Whereas your opinions should always be taken as gospel.

And not once did I have to stoop to any personal attacks.

You do realize there are a whole lot of Huddlers whom you would classify as "Sunshine Warriors". Are you insulting all of them? Or just a select few?

Lastly, cuz I already regret this. But if you think folks care if you are laughing at them. Then dude, you truly do have an overly inflated self worth.

    • Bryce isn't a risk-taking gunslinger.  That's just QB DNA.  No one has ever said that is what we were drafting when we went that route.  That's my point.  That's not Bryce. Can you make Alex Smith throw deep? Sure.  He will occasionally.  In the reverse, can you ask Brett Favre to just take the easy layups? Sure.  He can in moments.  But in the end, they are what they are.  as I have said, Canales probably could win more games with PJ Walker.  And Bryce is a better overall QB than PJ.  PJ Walker would also have much worse games mixed in that Bryce would.
    • From what i see, Canales offense requires a QB that is willing to take chances to maximize the offense. XL is also the kind of receiver that needs a qb to be risky to bring out his full potential. Its just a matter of if Bryce is gonna be that QB.
    • Baker just played how Baker played.... everywhere but here. He is a risk taking gunslinger.  Always has been.  And last year was asked to be what he was.   Geno Smith was the best deep ball passer in the NFL his comeback season.  Wasn't even close that year.  Again, that's the type passer Canales has always been around in the offenses he has been part of.  The pass game that compliments the stubborn run is the deep chunk play pass game.   And that was his first investment with XL.  My continued point, is the same as going into last season.  It's a bad marriage going in.  The QB doesn't fit the scheme.  Again.  Carrol/Fox/Ron....all paired up their boring football with risk taking QBs.  And again, I'm fine if that is where we are going.  It's not my preference but that's not my argument.  I'm saying if we are doing that, we need a QB that matches it.
