I agree.  Single digits is a tall order.

I don't believe it's much of a tall order when his INTs have dropped every season.

And that's with the garbage he had to deal with in NY.

Discounting and ignoring any positives isn't more realistic than pointing them out.

No, you are literally inventing something that isn't real. His TD:INT ratio and his INT% both were worse than 2019.

So to say "....his INT rate went down each year..." is literally NOT accurate.

Did his interception go down? Yes. Take a guess why? It was the lowest passing attempts of his career.

That's what I am saying. Don't invent a stat that isn't real for the purposes of cherry picking. That is classic poor use of statistics.

Sam Darnold had 364 pass attempts last year.  Teddy had 492.  Sam is going to be throwing a lot more than he did last year in a new system to new receivers.

They will be better designed palys and high percentage throws to better receivers and behind a better oline.  (Yes I said it, our left-tackle-less oline  is still better than last years jets line.)

That said, more throws generally parlays to more ints.

If he does 500 attempts and only 9 ints, that will be awesome.

Citing Sams ints by year is not  "literally inventing something that isn't real"

You are literally using the word "literally" wrong.

Does it lack context?  Yes, but the stat is NOT invented and is LITERALLY real.

I see. You don't know what "rate" means. That clears this up.

I didn't post the ints  by year dude.  You're arguing  with @glenwo2  through me.

Sheesh.

Fair enough but you are also taking up his argument through me. I didn't try and refute the statistics(which are actually stats) I posted. You did.

I get it though, you are just secondhand butthurt.

I'm not refuting your stats.  I agree with them.   3.0<3.6.    That is improvement.  See?  Not all bad.

That would be a Derek Carr type of season he was at 517 and 9. But he was in the thick of it in company amongst the best quarterbacks in the league like Josh Allen who had 592 and 10 picks Watson with 544 and 7 and Mahomes at 588 and 6. The MVP had 502 and 5. Even Justin Herbert had 499 and 10 ints. I think Darnold could approach 500 attempts but it will depend heavily on how the line looks early. For this specific reason we invested in another quality rb and a te who can block well. We will definitely be looking to establish the run game more and more as the season progresses remember it is 17 games now.

Well if you looked at his first 3 seasons overall, his INT rate went down each year :

15, then 13, then 11.

I think he'll throw only single digits this time if this trend continues(which I think it will, especially on this team).

Notice its from Glenwo2.

My reply^^^

His INT% was basically the same the past two years.

2018: 3.6%

2019: 2.9%

2020: 3.0%

It was actually his TD% that tanked last season.

2018: 4.1%

2019: 4.3%

2020: 2.5%

Ahh yes, but down 16.7% from his rookie season.  See?  Improvement.

I was wondering when you going to show and bestow your realism on us.

^^^^^^^Me pointing out  that that 3.6% to 3.0% is a 16.7% reduction in joking fashion.

Seriously, not everything is a war dude.

We know his stats aren't good.   You've made the point over and over and over.

You don't have to wage war against every stat.
