This is from August, before the season started (didn't see it posted earlier).  https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeozanian/2021/08/05/the-nfls-most-valuable-teams-2021-average-team-value-soars-to-35-billion-as-league-shrugs-off-pandemic-year/

The breakdown is a bit more interesting

Forbes says that the change in value from 2020 to 2021 is up 14%.

The "win-to-player-cost-ratio" is 58 (compared to, let's say, the Bucs who's win-to-cost ratio is super high at 215, or the Seahawks at 133.)  someone with better insight can share whether a high ratio or a low ratio is good.   The Jaguars' ratio is just 15.

That "revenue per fan" statistic really makes you feel good about how they see us

oooh, hadn't see that.  Interesting.

Houston, Seattle: $13

Dolphins: $10

Packers: $183

Chargers: $4

wonder if it's based on merch sales or something similarly able to determine who is "a fan" and what comprises the fan revenue.   The article isn't good in showing the footnote detail

It says it is, "Local revenues divided by metro population, with populations in two-team markets divided in half."

So, basically our local revenue divided by the population of the Charlotte Metro area.

There are some other interesting tibits on there, like the Market Value($139M) and Brand($91M). Compare that to another small market team with a giant presence, the Green Bay Packers with a Market Value of $210M and Brand value of $264M. Another interesting comparison is a market roughly double the size of CLT metro, the Arizona Cardinals. Market Value of $136M and Brand value of $101M.

Interesting to see their valuations. It would be helpful to see behind the curtain a little on how they came up with some of these figures.

    • I would write “give remmers tight end help” on a yellow sticky note and stuck it in shulas playbook the night before superbowl 50.
    • And don’t worry about Bryce he will be great… Peyton Manning had a horrible rookie year too 😂
    • Nothing wrong with it at all until you start telling others they are bad fans or not fans. But you are the good fan because you never say negative stuff about the team.    I did many years of that type of uninformed fanning because there really was no info and coverage like there is with the internet.    I mean, I used to go to the store and get Street and Smith’s annual football issue. That was about the extent of what you could get if you didn’t live in a big city with sportswriters covering and reporting.  There was no video to look at or replay the games and if you didn’t live in the market you could only rarely see your football team play.    TI have fanned since being a kid in the early 1960s, and as late as 1995 - ‘97 I lived in Atlanta and good luck getting more than 3 or 4 games a year on TV. No radio either. No print coverage outside of an AP recap and box unless they played Atlanta.  People today that have always had the network connection don’t know.    I wasn’t very educated about the Panthers until I finally got internet.
