Trade Down only option for 2022 draft?

Not necessarily.  QBs aren't even money bets, if you get lucky and you are right then its worth it, all is good.

Problem is, we have probably backed our self into a corner where we end up taking a gamble with really bad odds.

My favorite draft sight has 7 OL in the top 32 on their current Big Board.  While they have 5 QBs in those top 32, NONE higher than #12.  You go with the strength of the draft, especially if a position of need.  This should be a no-brainer.

You know my thoughts on this QB draft class.

If we trade up to get one of these guys, I am just going to take 2022 off. I'll come back when we have a new coaching staff.

I agree, on paper it seems to be a down year.

I'm just afraid we have backed ourselves into a corner and we force something.  

Think about all the times you were high on a player and he turned out bad, or you didn't like a guy and he turned out good.

Maybe that happens here.

Unfortunately, I have been right quite a bit under Rhule because his decisions have been so obviously suspect.

Trading back for a QB would be the only move for this team at this point. I guess you could make the argument to stay put at our likely top 5 pick if there is a LT available.
